You know, I thought I was pretty ambivalent about the HoDA stuff, but the idea of tranquil Anders hit me kind of in the feels. Ack. :P Apparently, I need more coffee to get back to my normal levels of "Eh.Whatever." *grin*

It'll be heartbreaking to see, that's for sure!

I felt so sad when I saw the slave Fenris as it was, so the possibility of seeing Anders who was my Hawke's LI in that sorry state is probably enough for me to uninstall the game, LOL!

A possessed mage is fully immune to tranquility. You cannot severe a mage's connection to the fade by bumping hot lyrium to his head when he has a very essence of the fade living inside him. Hence came the tranquility cure which revolves around this very matter. You have to "unpossess" him first which is not possible, at least not yet. In other words you cannot make an abomination tranquil.

Lol came for cullen found Anders.

LOL, I think the more inappropriate it is, the more likely they'll do it. So let's go with... tranquil Anders, possessed Merrill and a red lyrium Cullen.

At least reanimated Leandra is canon. As, theoretically, might the last thing be, though that'd be extremely trollish.

In the actual Dragon Age games, sure. But HoDA isn't created by BioWare, so they'll probably go ahead and make a tranquil Anders, regardless. They've already broke canon a few times, so I'm fully expecting to see more of it.

Sorry. I don't think it'll actually happen; that'd be a bit absurd, unless they wanted to make a Sarenesque villain whose sympathetic journey we could see from the start... er, sorry again.

Right, Tranquil Anders doesn't necessarily mean Tranquil Justice!Anders. They've explored various AU incarnations of the characters, like slave!Fenris, or Knight-Commander Carver. So, it's not outside the realm of possibility. Just outside the realm of Good Taste. LOL

That makes me wonder something: When Feynriel was unable to wake and the demons were pushing hard on him, Marethari says to Hawke that a death in the Fade would make him Tranquil. But... Karl was made Tranquil and when Justice appeared, he returned briefly. That tells me that Tranquility doesn't "kill" the part of a mage that's in the Fade. So... how could a death in the Fade have made Feynriel Tranquil then? All I can figure, is that death in the Fade is impermanent. Or there are two different processes here with the same result. Whether a mage is cut off from accessing the Fade like when the rite of Tranquility is formed, or a mage is killed while in the Fade - thus leaving them with no Fade connections - the consequence appears the same in the real world. So then why would Marethari suggest such a harsh and permanent thing? At least with the Rite, it has hope of being cured. Just a random think I had. ;)

LOL No worries. I think the reason Lola brought up red lyrium Cullen is that it's not so outside the realm of possibility. It honestly would be an interesting character arc. Not that I see him running arms open for the red lyrium crazy. Especially after what he's seen first hand.  I think that would be a bit OOC. But I could imagine a scenario or two where he had to resort to the red lyrium.

OMG?? Seriously? Wow, it's like all the pathos that BW puts into their games... has just bypassed the HoDA team! Um, at least they're not lilies on her dress...?

Hey, I've played this! I had to remove it because it was killing my phone and I couldn't keep music on it with how much space it hogs. The background operation it kept up slowed everything else down. :/ I had no idea about slave!Fenris. And now this? o.O What the...?

Hmm, this makes my head hurt. But it could also be that Feynriel, being a Dreamer, is a special case, since he's more, I dunno, "present" in the Fade.

Um, hand wave? LOL

In theory both Merrill and Cullen can become what Lolalei said. Ander is the only one impossible.

Yeah. I wish they'd work closely to Bioware and implement heroes that fit the lore, like Orlesian Chevaliers or Nevarran hunters.
If they want to make unique heroes, they can introduce some historocal figure of the past, like Garahel or Drakon.

LOL! Sorry. I'm just pontificating. Once I've had some coffee, it'll subside. ;)  I just found it a bit confusing and contradictory (though we know BioWare does that all the time). I don't know if Feynriel is different in how he accesses the Fade but it's possible, though I find the notion of two different processes with the same result to be a more likely explanation, I think.

But I think it works. Tranquility severs the link to the Fade, no matter how strong it is.

Well not exactly, how are you going to severe anything when the fade itself is burning inside like the sun. You have the severe the connection between the spirit/demon and the mage and until now such thing is impossible in DA universe.

This would have been an awesome approach. How cool to see some of those characters come to life! Or, heh heh, Calenhad. As a Reaver? muahahaha!

I meant with Feynriel. I thought that was what R2 was on about.

Yeah, I think we were all talking about Samara's comments about Feynriel. I don't believe anyone is talking about Justice-possessed Anders being tranquilized.

Isn't? It would be far better than what they're doing right now. There are plently of characters in the lore they could use.

In other news... anyone else annoyed that when you quote you only get the last comment? I understand them not wanting the huge, fifteen-post-long quote trees, but only having one loses quite a bit of context. Hmm.

Indeed, and then they wouldn't have to worry about being AU or spoiling DA:I, etcetcetc by including, say, Empress Celene, or one of the Pentaghast royalty.

Of course... this also reflects how VERY VERY VERY VERY MUCH I would have loved to have seen, heh, Andraste! ;) Pointy crown, and all.  :D
