I'm starting to think mini demo, a Paragon statue and a chicken in an Orlesian headdress are about as far apart as you can get.

A possessed mage is fully immune to tranquility. You cannot severe a mage's connection to the fade by bumping hot lyrium to his head when he has a very essence of the fade living inside him. Hence came the tranquility cure which revolves around this very matter. You have to "unpossess" him first which is not possible, at least not yet. In other words you cannot make an abomination tranquil.
Lol came for cullen found Anders.
Oh yeah, I forgot all about that. *grin* This is what I get for coming to the boards before my coffee. ![]()

I thought demons possessed mages from the Fade, that they weren't physically there in a mage - just controlling him or her? Like with Connor. The Warden had to go into the Fade, or send a mage if not one herself, to kill the demon there. So... in theory, shouldn't Tranquility still work? I know in Anders' case, it was different because Justice was outside the Fade and in our realm and he was literally inside of Anders. I can see Tranquility not working in that instance. Gotta love how BioWare confuses us! ![]()

I always thought the possessed ones we saw were literally filled with demon and Connor was the fluke.
It always seemed like most scenarios they showed us included demons that came out of the Fade and into the physical world, via veil tears or being summoned, and there wasn't any hope of rescuing the mage once the demon had entered them. I would of liked more scenarios that included them being stuck back in the Fade.
Hopefully they come up with something similar to an exorcism. Or getting the demon to leave thru trickery if you have high cunning. Almost like how you could trick that creepy desire demon kitty, 'cept I'd like an actual possession. Unless once they possess, they merge with the victim's soul like Justice/Anders. Eitherway, there's gotta be a way to reverse it, and we just don't know what, yet.

I dunno. The way Connor was explained, it gave me the impression that was how all possessions work. Anders was different since Justice was stuck outside. Yet we have seen demons pouring into Thedas from tears, though usually they're in demon form not possessed mage form. BioWare does like to say one thing and then do something different because it looks cool and then offer no explanation for the difference. It's probably a detail that means nothing but I wish sometimes they would try to keep their canon straight and try to make "cool things" within the canon lore they set.
Edit: Demon Kitty was creepy indeed!

I was thinking more about the Circle quest, most of those demons and possessions happened because they'd been physically summoned into the tower. It's like they said that's how mages are usually possessed, with the demon trapped in the Fade, but most of our encounters with demons are thru summoned in-person ones. Until you get to Dragon Age 2, then it's a whole lot of blood mage abominations, where we mighta been able to help them, if we could go into the Fade.
So I guess that's how it usually happens, they just haven't shown many instances of it. Especially instances where we can do something about it beyond killing the mage.
I'm expecting a whole lotta that stuff in DA:I. With all the veil tears, there'll probably be normal non-magic folk getting all demony, too.

I wonder how we actually close a tear? I mean, in DA:O you just kept hitting it and then it closed... which was kinda daft, lol.

That required Justice to do something to our weapons, didn't it? For small tears, it might be something like Oblivion, that you have to cross over into the Fade to stop it from the inside. As for the ginormous rip in the sky, I haven't the faintest idea. Some great act of magic, perhaps. The only other Veil closing method requires blood magic, a la Avernus.

I think what's more moronic is the fact that mass amounts of death weakens the Veil, but to close them we'll have to no doubt kill a bunch of demons/red templars/crazed blood mages/Orlesian chickens.
I think like how it was previously speculated, the Inquisitor may just have special snowflake Tear closing powers.

Yeah, that's right. Judging from the one in the middle of the lake from demo the Fade tears are much bigger in DAI, so hitting it probably won't do much good, lol.

I think it might be related to some kind of power the Inquisition possess. The firs concept art (the one about the keep) hinted about some mind of power, and I find interesting that the Inquisitor's helmet (as well as a sword on a concept) are adorned with a dragon.
Good point. They have been bashing us over the head with the dragon motif, so maybe the sudden influx of dragons could play a role.

I think it's more about the Inquisition than the Inquisitor. I don't think our PC will have some like of dragon powers. That's reserved for our OGB in the future
I'd say so. And between the comics and DAI, my theory of The Maker being Fen'harel and the Old Gods being the Forgotten Ones seems more plausible.Good point. They have been bashing us over the head with the dragon motif, so maybe the sudden influx of dragons could play a role.

That's pretty cool, although if you want your own custom game (and depending if you want to use 3d objects in that game) you will need an additional program to make 3d models like 3D Studio Max, Maya , or Blender, although the latter is free the other 2 are pretty expensive, about 4k if you want to buy a license to use for commercial use, if you want to get the former 2 programs you *could* get them for free for 3 years if you have a student ID. You can get a student license of those programs but you are not allowed to use them for commercial use tho, same thing with the unity engine, if you want to sell the game you must buy a license 1st, but if the game is going to be free you dont have to worry about that
