Oh no, you were absolutely right it's also uh...that.
You get them for flashing your boobs, don't you? ... That's what the movies taught me, anyway!

You eat pancakes because it's about to be Lent! Very similar custom, actually.
Aha! What a heartbreaking thing to give up! LOL
It's Carnival. Mardi Gras ("fat Tuesday" in French) is the day before Lent. In Louisiana, we have parades, parties, balls, and the likes. In rural parts of the state, you put on creepy masks and go horseback riding, riding from place to place to collect ingredients for a gumbo; the final stage is to catch a chicken (yes, a real chicken) that someone releases. Poor said chicken goes into the gumbo.
OK, now I HAVE to know what Pancake Day is!!

PANCAKE DAY? Why did I not know about this? That has gone right on to my calendar and will be celebrated mightily.
Pancake day this year is on March 4th, it's also called Shrove Tuesday.

Another thing that's heartbreaking? My Girl Scout cookies were delivered yesterday. If I open them, they'll be stale by Easter, and I can't eat two boxes of cookies in three days. So a box of Thin Mints and a box of Shortbread sit forlornly in my cupboard uneaten while I stare at them with longing. ![]()
Aw, that sounds like a horrible experience and would understandably turn you off! Huh. Do you think we should be worried...? *gulp* I worked so hard for that slu tty Tier 2 cultural armor I finally bought...
This seems like an appropriate moment to bust this out again. Ahem.
Pancake day sounds very Canadian -where does this magical holiday commence oh Cullenites?
Yay for magical holiday tomorrow!
I know they do have it in at least some parts of Canada - we celebrated it when I lived in Newfoundland.

Well I am Canadian, and never heard of it before. But I now know what's on the menu for dinner tomorrow night!

I think they've tightened security on there. It's always possible to get hacked, via a virus and other things. This was more unique as it was -them- that had been hacked, and not just a random individual player. It angered alot of people, especially because of how they treated it, so now I've heard nothing but good about 2. So I wouldn't be too worried about it happening again.
Is it just me, or do GW2 do 'lady of the night' armour better than any other game? It's both slu tty AND cool looking. Take that Masquerade armour for example.
And I'm aiming for the Tier 3 Asura armour for my asura elementalist and mesmer, partly because of the googles, partly because it's Felicia Day's armour. She always gets great armour in games. Oh how I want some Tallis armour....
LOL All I know is that my Norn Guardian has had very few slu tty options, for which I should be appreciative since sensible armor is sensible. But I'm really glad to get rid of my boring, boring scale amor and finally clothe myself in AWESOMENESS!

LOL Well, I feel your pain. I officially know NO girl scouts this year. So I'm going without, regardless! But I sure will be eating pancakes. ![]()
oh I thought it was that thing wear you get colored bean necklaces, boy I was dead wrong
![]()
Well not really; beaded necklaces are some of the more popular items thrown from the floats in the parades ![]()
Speaking of clothes.. So, we've the option of changing colours in DA:I? Hopefully that includes black. There weren't enough black outfits in the series.
MMG, does everyone at your institution get those days off then? IIRC, friends at Tulane got a whole week off classes or something.
Most of us just get Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday off, but it wouldn't surprise me if Tulane got the whole week off since they're in NOLA.

What's the deal with girl scouts? Why do they sell cookies? Are they raising money for something?
Mardi Gras has always sounded like such a blast! I would love to go to Brazil for the parades and crazy party atmosphere - I would love one of those crazy outfits. Very Orlesian!
Agree!
I mean check out these costumes: http://www.theatlant...e-world/100691/
Well there's the Barbaric Armour.

And the armour skins in the Gem Store always border on the brothel-ready.
That always put me off of GW2 a bit. Don't get me wrong, I like to pretty my characters up sometimes, but I was annoyed that I had to go hunting in a short skirt and crop top... in a snowy environment of all things! And the men all got awesome outfits and armor.

Only in NOLA, and only during certain parades; you'd be arrested elsewhere
Shockingly, I've never been interested in doing Mardi Gras in NOLA...
