In Asunder, Orlais is having its own Civil War and she has to go into hiding.
I think DA3 is going to revolve around Mage VS Templar but it will lead to revelations the Chantry kept hidden from Thedas and it will force people to question their faith.
I think we will hear more about the Templars not needing Lyrium as well as other secrets including evidence that Andraste was a mage herself.
I think the there will be a huge Armada of Qunari and templars/mages will have to put aside their differences but then something even bigger and more epic will force the Qunari to join with everybody else

Yeah, this theory is one of my faves. It would be so great for them to use it to "reset" the mage-templar conflict in DA3. Talk about shaking the foundations of the religion! LOLMissRedZelda wrote...
I totally support the theory that Andraste was a mage, probably a Spirit healer. It would explain why her ashes have such miraculous healing powers. In fact, I think one book that was a gift for Wynne was about this, and it had been saved from being burned.

I like the way you think.Melca36 wrote...
First, Didn't David Gaider once say he did not write Return to Ostagar? Also Empress Celene is probably 10 years older if not more.

And I hope the "something bigger" is that the Veil gets ripped to shreds by all the violence and demons flood the world. In order to combat this threat, *everyone* needs to work together, even the Qunari.

Agree, he would be a great companion. But, I don't think we can assume he would be "pro-templar" in the next game, since we don't really know what being pro-templar will mean in a post-DA2 world. In principle, with the official Templar Order having abandoned the Chantry to go mage hunting, Cullen may no longer believe in what they stand for. It's for this reason I think it would be great to see him again.Hazasaurus98 wrote...
I would like cullen as a companion, since he seems like one of the few reasonable templars. He would obviously be pro-templar, however, so my character (who is definantly going to be a mage) could have some intresting arguments

It makes me wonder if there will be a split in the Order: Those that break away from the Chantry, and a small group that stick with the Divine. In which case, who would keep the Templar uniform? Or would the smaller group have to forfeit the uniform in fear of being hunted down by the larger rebel group? Unless both will have different uniforms? I guess the rebel Templars would probably want a different looking insignia because the old one is too linked to the Chantry's law.
Also, did the Templars rebel due to all the mages rebelling, so they decided that the Chantry wasn't doing enough to put a stop to them?

Well, the templars didn't rebel so much as break their convenant with the Chantry, an agreement signed back in the Divine age to work together. You can read a bit more about it on the wiki. There's not a lot of explanation for the reasoning, but it's stated that they break the Navarran Accord because the Chantry -- i.e. Divine Justinia V -- not only didn't stop the mage rebellion but even aided it. So, I would think that the organization itself, logos, income, uniforms, etc, go with the group breaking away. Especially since every Knight-Commander was behind the split, in name even if not in their hearts. I agree that there's likely to be some who support the Chantry still... but I think these would inevitably be rogue to the official Order, though. I wonder at how organized they would be. New team logo? Or just a rag tag band of defenders clinging to the Chantries in their old uniforms?LolaLei wrote...

Perhaps they'll be in any armor they can find, like the Wardens were in DA:O. This could mean that Cullen's outfit could be completely different to what we expect, it may not have any insignia on it at all... He may even be wearing trousers lol.

wow any cullen or da3 news yet?
Nothing yet, but there's been some interesting tweets from the DA team.
Whilst your here, we all read your tumblr with Cullen's DA:O dialogue (I adore his comment about Andraste and the Maker.) Do you have the voice samples of his unused dialogue? Like, his battle cries etc?

Here's an idea, for something different. Everyone can post a reason they think Cullen should be in DA3...? Just a big brainstorm page of all the reasons, big and small, in one spot?LolaLei wrote...
