Yay, look at the new thread off and running!! Kudos Gala!

@RagingCyclone - thanks for sharing that pic -- hiLARious!  and@Bekk - I love the swap scenario... more writing prompts...? Anything to get your Cullen muse going! :D:whistle:

I can't wait to learn more about the Seekers. I find them a tantalizing addition to the game that has GOT to be explored more. Hopefully not just in that animated movie, but also in anything that deals with the templar-mage war fallout. They're such an interesting component to the whole 'hell in a handbasket' that Thedas fell  into after DA2, since it's not clear who's side anyone is on anymore. Of course I've got my own take on them which will all become horribly AU once those follow ups come out. *sigh* <_< Still look forward to learning more!

Though my Hawkes are tormented enough with trying to choose between Fenris and Anders.  Maybe Cullen would break the tie?

Aww, looked what just popped up on dA. Cullen *kidnapped* a cat in Darktown (poor Anders), but I think poor cat is safer with Cullen (Anders is too dangerous now, sadly :():

I was always struck by this piccy from the original thread when I first starting reading it. For nostalgia's sake:

Poor Cullen. He's the puppy BW loves to kick a tormented soul.

My muse is currently away on vacation and not accepting calls. I don't think even naked Cullen will make her return before she's good and ready...the intractable minx!

Choice between LI's can be a difficult thing. I say take one of each and call me in the morning.

Gala, that movie looks verra interesting. Can't wait!

For some reason, his clothing makes me think of Hobbits. I like the kitty on his shoulder. :)

R2, I always liked that one too.

Cullen as a woman?

Eh. For my templar crackpairings, I'd still probably prefer Meredith, but... there's potential there, true.

I feel your pain. I strangely find I have a "love the one you're with" problem with my LIs -- meaning, I just can't seem to love who I'm with. When I settle on who will the the LI for a given playthrough, invariably I end up pining for someone else. My love for Anders was ironically at its lowest in the PT where I romanced him, and I was in to Sebastian. And Cullen. When I finally did my Sebastian romance, I was falling for Anders again... and, um Cullen. Again.  Perhaps the downside of too much metagaming. Or, seeing a trend, possibly a not so rare case of "the Cullen effect: Falling madly in love with someone you barely know --  and who is basically unattainable -- because he smiles at you."<3

AND speaks to your Hawke in that soft, dreamy tone of voice. Let's not forget that little fact.

Ususally, with the romances in a game, I try them all, then settle on the one I like best for my canon. Unfortunately, the one I like best in DA2 doesn't exist. Anders gets second place to Cullen, Fenris third, and Sebastian gets...well, he doesn't count for any of my PC's because I don't see him as a true romance.

DA2 lacked an Alistair or a Kaidan for me: a romance that really grabbed me and refused to let go. Major props to the writer of DA2 Cullen (and Greg Ellis for his sensitive voicing). He had me at hello.

I believe he was written by Hepler, who also wrote Sebastian and Anders. But that's just what I heard/read/whatever.

It's been no secret I have a big crush on Leliana. There was no LI in DA2 that compares to her. Alistair was a bro to my wardens, and sadly Cullen was a bro to my Hawke's despite the HUGE oversight that he was not a companion. (that's right, he should have been a companion)

Sia, you're right. I believe Cullen was written by JH. I had a memory derp.

RagingCyclone, that's when I think a game really suceeds, is when you come across a character that hooks you completely. If they don't make you rage, yearn and burn, there has been a failure to connect somewhere. Only a few characters affect me in such a way, but those that do can take over my mind. Fictional characters are inbued with the magic of their creators, and they have a power all their own.

Heh, so uh.. is that why Zev and Cullen dominated a story in which they were supposed to be secondary characters?

Yes!  Or, "This is templar business, stranger." as it were.. :P

While DA2 had no Alistair (or Leliana), I was more intrigued by more of LIs in this one. Everyone except Merrill, personally. But, I don't think any of them were written as deeply, or as effectingly.

Exactly. You were under their power. *cue Twilight Zone theme*

DA2 Cullen just wanted to get our attention enough so he could become our sassy little dumpling! :P

Also, just rediscovered this you posted on the old thread.

Three pages guys!! You've been chatty while I've been sleeping :)

I suffer from 'want what you can't have' syndrome. As evidenced by my presence here and my avatar.../sigh.

I was a Zev girl in Origins - Alistair just made me want to pinch his cheeks and give him cookies. Sort of kills the romance :P

I just did Cullen's intro with TWO mages in the group - Anders and Bethany. I can't say how much that blind spot in the writing bothers me. I understand that it would make the plotting very difficult if mages were recognised but still, it does rather make the Templars look stupid.

Oh - I know the mage/Cullen pairing is a favourite but if he was an LI I'd probably play rogues and warriors - poor love's had enough angst already ^_^

I've only written one little one-shot with Warrior F!Hawke and Cullen, and I admit, I adore the pairing. I think I will have to do more in future. I've done a little Viscountess Hawke and Cullen too.

I agree. Even if you're not casting, the whole staff over the shoulder thing is a bit of a giveaway. I sorta imagine a more real scenario in my head would be similar to Bekkael's Twisted!Hawke, where the mage hides her powers and pretends she's really a dual-wielding rogue.

Edit: Yes, agree, my current, ever-growing fic is also Cullen + Viscountess mage!Hawke. Definitely a different sorta dynamic.
