I just realized, the inquisitor sounds like Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont from Game of Thrones).

EDIT: So I guess I'm saying he sounds Scottish, but it's funny, like he's not really Scottish/northern.

Yes! It does sound like him! At first I couldn't put my finger on it and thought it sounded like Stannis Baratheon but now that you've mentioned it, it does sound like Jorah. It'd be cool if it really is him.

Yes, that's what I meant, thank you. It doesn't sound like it's his native accent. It sounds funny. It sounds like no English accent I've ever heard... and it also sounds like multiple accents all rolled into one. And it also sounds like his nose is stopped up...

Yeah I think it's that strange gritty/chain smoker thing he's trying to do. Like for a few words the image I have of the guy speaking will be an old bearded man, and then the next a younger, clean shaven one. It's like the voice is all over the place. Not a fan, but to be honest, I can see both boring ears and superior, pointed ears.

But who knows, maybe he's doing some super obscure English accent even English people don't know, like Kendra ("the 'wampire' slay-ahh", as me and my friends know her), from Buffy with her super obscure Jamaican. Doubt it though.

I have a couple of theories (answering what may not be a serious question). Sometimes I headcanon that it's just something his mom would have taught him, since in polite society, it's just something a gentleman knows how to do (something my German husband once said to me). Sometimes I headcanon that templar officers may have a offers/finishing school of sorts that teaches them not to eat with their mouth open, and things like that.

Well both theories sound plausible...I really hope they reveal more about his pre-Fereldan circle background, the possible backstories he could have are endless!Fingers Crossed he's a companion this time! ^_^

Speaking of their screenshots.

DAI_Discover1.jpg

If you zoom in:

1. Closer up view of Thedosian Moose/Deer/Halla.

2. Is that our Inquisitor about to kill it?

3. Is that a Dwarf statue on that rock?? Like, again, out on the surface?

I think it Timothy Watson AKA Teagan and Gamlen but you are  right it does sound like him.

I think he sounds much more like Simon Chadwick (Aka, Nathaniel Howe), personally. Either way, I love it. :)

Yes to all, (apart from Halla, they are white and cool and definitely not disguised Orlesian water chickens).

But look at the amazing detail. Look at the lichen!

Spending some time trying to decipher locations:

00:15-00:25 : Dwarven statue on top of hill in rain next to ocean. I've been looking for a dwarven city or area on the map near the water, and the closest on the map would be Orzammar, as Kal-Sharok isn't even very close to a lake.

The area reminds me a lot of the Giant's Causeway in Ireland:

So far, Varric's 5 for 5 with his conversations taking place near a source of heat. Lending credence to my theory that dwarves are reptilian

I think that the guy in that picture is one of our men. He has a similar outfit of the guys in the demo.

Don't think of him as Gamlen. Think of him as Teagan and Lord Harriman and Arl Wulff :D

I like Teagan (sexy!!!) but don't know who the other two are. Still... it's so manly, rough, deep, macho, and... old. He sounds 40s-ish. And I say this as a 33 year old who finds 40 year olds (and beyond) sexy as hell. But that's not who I want to play!

I thought the exact same thing as soon as I saw it. Hopefully there'll be a cool natural fog machine on it too!

Have I mentioned how much I want to visit Ireland? No?
So I suppose The dwarven city we get to visit is Orzammar...As excited I am to return there I'd love to see Kal-Sharok this time. I'm still hoping though...

The marsh land (sorry I can't take HQ screenshots..:()from 00:53  could be a few places, but the largest marshland besides the Wilds are the Nahashin Marshes in Orlais. And of course I know these could be locations not on the map. And of course I know there are more Dwarven settlements everywhere. Just trying to guess.

Could be. Altho the figure seems to be holding up that lamp fixture. Someone red-lyriumed the lamplighter! Those b*stards! LOL

Remember the statue in DAO , if you play the Mage and help Jowan. There's a Tervinter statue that talks to you, that was once a live person. I'm thinking it could be simular. Or it's a reprisentation. That statue looks like it's holding a scale or pendulum. Could be ways of finding or controlling Red Lyrium. And maybe it doesn't work on all Templars.

Theory, what if Cullen is captured by these RL addicts and possibly kept for study if he's someone who isn't affected. He had pretty strong will against the blood mages, maybe that will help him with denying the RL or it not actually working on him.

Hmm I guess I could play a grizzled elf type inquisitor. A sort of Lord Elrond kind of guy. Hmmm. Not ideal, but I don't want to psyche myself up and be disappointed if it really is our only voice option.

If they got Iain Glen to voice the male inquisitor, that may reduce my protag pool to one. I love his voice.

Lord Harriman is who you have to kill for the mercenaries in Act 1 (I think) if you sided with them in the prologue. That's why he's dead when you're doing the quest for Sebastian. Arl Wulff is the noble you meet in the Gnawed Noble who's mourning the death of his sons. He can be a very hard persuade in the Landsmeet if you don't handle it right (which it took me quite a while to figure out how to do that). One other thing that it might be Timothy Watson is he did the violent male human voice for Origins.
