I am, I admit, curious as to what your own characters think of the Maker as being like.

Also, I consider it fairly likely that Cullen doesn't have a last name. It's typically only nobles who bother with one.

Also, we have no actual proof that the Maker caused all those people to turn into Darkspawn for storming the Golden City, aside from a bunch of Chants and in-game theories that could be completely wrong or fabricated. Who's to say the Maker said "Right you bunch of dicks, I'm dooming the lot of you to walk the Earth looking like Eddie the Head for the rest of your unnatural lives, suck on that!" Maybe it had nothing to do with the Maker at all and those culprits transformed into hideous monsters due to the hatred and greed within their souls? Who knows what caused such an adverse reaction, but we shouldn't be so quick to take the Chantries word as gospel just yet that's for sure.

My idea wasn't about the proof or lack thereof so much as it was the desire to smear the logical conclusion of the Chantry's doctrine in the Chantry's face.

It varies on the type of character I create really. Some believe, others don't. If I create a carbon copy of myself then she'll be open minded since we still don't know whether he exists or not, but most of my characters recognise that there's something fundamentally wrong with the way the Chantry is run.

I'm hoping he doesn't have a Surname, mainly because I'm hoping he's an Orphan... For drama purposes of course lol.

I'm actually hoping that the new protagonist will get to uncover some real dirt on some of the shady dealings that has gone on within the Chantry. I'd love to discover that they've been using lyrium to keep control of the Templars and stuff.

You know, given all the explicit hints in the game and novels about holes the official darkspawn story, it must be something altogether different. But, Xil does have a point that according the Chantry itself, the Maker is responsible for the darkspawn taint. Heh. Never really thought about that before. But then, the Maker is responsible for creating everything in the world, even according to the Old God cults, so in principle that's just one more thing to lay at His door.

I doubt they'll ever answer some of those things definitively, but I do think some Chantry controversy would be cool. Like, I doubt we'll ever find out if Andraste was a mage, but it would be interesting if some long lost evidence comes to light creating chaos and debate. Or, a more political controversy, like the lyrium control Lola mentioned.

I think if we ever find out anything big like Andraste being a Mage or whatever then it'll be in the very last DA game.

... Although, you never know, we might find out she was a mage in DA3 and have to make the decision to let the world know, or keep it quiet. Imagine the outcome of that one LOL!

It would be like when Indiana Jones found the Arc of the Covenant..... they'll lock it up and have "top men" working on it.
Wait a minute, didn't the 3rd Indiana Jones movie have a Templar guarding the Holy Grail? Hmmm.... lol

Omg that's amazing! I want it!

That clip of Cullen looking sad as the Warden leaves is heartbreaking isn't it. Poor little thing.

Urgh, all these new DA comics featuring Alistair is making me really nervous... I'm worried they'll kill him off, which in turn would become canon in the games. My Warden and Alistair die together in a blaze of glory or (preferably) not at all. Don't think I could stomach another bombshell like they pulled with the ME3 endings, honestly I think it would be enough to put me off playing anymore Bioware games. (Pathetic I know.)

How would you prefer Cullen to die, if he does?

I'd prefer him to live, but if he does die then I guess it would be sacrificing himself to save the protagonist and companions as they try to protect a group of innocent mages or something. Like, perhaps in DA3 he sees how corrupt the rebel Templars have become and has some sort of epiphany, so when a life or death situation arises that puts them all in danger he charges in, battling the Templars giving the others a chance to escape. That's what I'd want to see anyway... Of course, I'd also want the option for him to live through that battle if we do his loyalty quest or our friendship/romance points are high enough (kinda like how Grunt stumbles out wounded but alive during the ME3 Rachni quest.)

This is all fine but I think if he does kick the bucket I'd like to have one big heart wrenching goodbye scene. Sort of like with Leandra but if he's your LI I'd like it to be so gut tearing that you're heard crying out in dispair miles away. One last dying blood soaked kiss. Then again, maybe save that for if you don't have enough points to keep him. If you do, then let's have you think he's dead and then give me a last minute miracle. I still want the good cry but then tears of elation to follow.

Ooooo yeah that too, if you can't save him. But there should be that heart wrenching moment for the final goodbyes before the final battle, the ones in ME3 were really sad!
