Why Starkhaven?

"Starkhaven's wealth was truly a sight to behold. A path paved in granite led up to the grandest building I've ever seen. My guide indicated that this was the residence of Starkhaven's ruler, Prince Vael".

From Codex

It could be Starkhaven. I think I still vote Orlais thought simply because of the clock. Just seems very Orlesian to me. Not that I have any idea what a Starkhaven clock would look like. LOL  I guess I just didn't get an Art Nouveau, add swirls and naked women to all the things, vibe from the one Starkhaven pic we got.

I do hope once the game comes out, they can explain what's going on in that Starkhaven pic, tho. Who dropped their tray of food? And why??

I was most excited about the seeming appearance of boots on Mr Elf's feet.

I just had a thought... boot-wearing elves... how many have we seen? As I recall, only an Antivan Crow assassin... hmmm...

I'll take a closer look when I get home, but some people with brown hair have red as well. My mother has really dark brown hair, but if she stands in the sunlight it looks red. I tease her that she's a false ginger - it's only noticable in the sunlight, which is a redhead's mortal enemy. XD

My speculation:

Kirkwall

Starkhaven

I'm almost thinking Kirkwall for the last one as well based on the statues. They remind me of the ones we see in the Gallows.

The Cullen of my imagination would probably revisit Kirkwall with feelings of great sadness.  You know that the Circle failed there.  Actually now you bring it up, I think that could be a really interesting trip for the Inquisitor/player to take.  We'd get Varric's take on the whole Hawke/Kirkwall thing as well as potentially Ironbull's on the Qunari attack, Cullen's (I hope) on the Templars and Cassandra on the Chantry reaction.  A really organic way to broach a lot of DA history.  I like the idea a lot.

I'd like to see the reaction of the characters you mentioned If we visit Kirkwall,It will give us a deep insight on how these events changed them and influenced their views about some subjects.

I'd also like to see how Cullen interacts with the "flamboyant" Orlesian nobility we might encounter. After all he is still a Fereldan and the Orlesians don't like them much...I wonder what he'll think of them,is he going to be repelled by their extravagance or simply indifferent?... :P

My hair was the same way when I was younger, so I can vouch for this.

Also this may well sound really picky but the stone looks more marble-y than granite-y to me.  More swirly shapes than flecks in the stone.  However, I'm not really sure that 100% adherence to the type of stone used in a path mentioned once in the codex would be a top priority for the developers.    ;)

I totally got a Kirkwall vibe from the last one too. I doubt we'll go back there unless it's to show off how they wanted it to look as compared to how it did when they had to rush.

The voice in the mass effect trailer is Nicholas Boulton. I don't think it's him in inquisition's.

I played swtor for about a month and I tried out all the classes.

It sounded a lot like this Sith (reddish character):

Not sure I'd want to meet a Cullen in Kirkwall... he'd be Knight-Commander, and presumably sided with Lambert *shudder*

Hmm, regarding the voices, which I'm still stuck on, much to everyone's annoyance  maybe we will have a pitch slider, a la the Sims.

I don't think we'll get to Kirkwall this year (or ever). People are still bashing DA2 (which I hate ofc), but I don't see it as wise move from Bioware to return to that place.

Besides, there are so many new places to discover. There is so much more we have to see (Tevinter, Anderfels, Antiva etc. etc.)

Yea but wasn't it said somewhere by the devs (i think) that we may revisit some places ? like Ferelden or  maybe Kirkwall?

yea... that doesnt sound good... hmm Im really curious if he is still a templar or if the guy in the war room pic is actually him......... cause in the leaked survey they had him dressed as a templar... Now that could have changed... also kind of makes me think that since he was in the survey as a tamplar  and then they changed him in the war room pic (if that's really him) that he may not be a companion :crying: :crying: :crying:

Okay, I will be honest. And this may not be a popular opinion, but... I'd rather see him as a rebel than a templar. Even if this means he is an NPC. If he's still a templar, I feel like that means his character has remained stagnant. And stagnancy is not why I love Cullen so much. I love him because of his nuances, and his potential, and his complexity. A rebel Cullen is someone who knows his old allegiances are broken, but perhaps still clings to them nonetheless. A conflicted man who is doing what he knows is right, even if part of his heart is still elsewhere.

I completely agree with this, heck, in the situation  that is  Thedas  in right now i wouldn't really want him as a templar either red or regular.

If that's the case, and it's Major Coats narrating, then I know who the voice is... it's M!Hawke!!!

The actors playing the voices are probably getting their last few weeks/months of privacy, because you know any of them that happen to be on any social networking will overnight have thousands of new followers...and that's if they aren't already well-known. Well obviously the inquisitor voices aren't well-known voices, but you catch my drift.

Totally agree. One of the major things the dev's are trying to throw at us is exploring the world. I would personally hate to see Kirkwall again, not just because I didn't like Kirkwall but because I want some new refreshing areas that would actually motivate me to explore them.

P.S. You're profile picture is everything.
