Thing is...the elves are often slaves within the Imperium. Would the Magisterium ever allow an elf such magical training, let alone make him an actual magister?
There are exceptions! Fenris' sister was taken in as a magister's apprentice, after all, thanks to what he chose to do. At the same time, however, I've also seen people assume that flaily hands moustache guy is Dorian.
Personally I like flaily hands guy. He had personality in that one concept art. 
Fenris' sister sold him out to become a magister, but whether or not Danarius was just playing her to get to him is anyone's guess.
She didn't sell him out? Fenris made his choice and fought others to win her that position and free their mother, I believe. His amnesia just prevented him from remembering that detail... she did sell him out later, though, by helping Danarius track him down.

Ah! I see, I see! I was misremembering a bit. I know he fought for their freedom, but I thought that also included her becoming a magister's apprentice. Not that her selling him out later was the deal for her becoming a magister's apprentice.
I stand corrected. 
Either way, she would have been an elven magister's apprentice, so that proves it can happen!
Unless Danarius was just going to lolnope troll her later, yes this does prove elven magisters do happen.

Someone pointed out that the ballroom looks similar to the room where Morrigan was in the GI coverage. The ceiling and the chandeliers look the same.
They also showed the ballroom already in the demo as WIP.
I noticed something else from the video, nothing mind blowing but anyway:
There are mabari hound statues on this keep that belongs to the Templars (from whatever faction), sooooo this must be in Ferelden somewhere!

This all continues to be my hesitation in calling that dude Dorian. There's nothing in that blurb to necessarily point to him being an elf. It's possible, but not a sure thing.

The "elves being mostly slaves" thing could play into an elven magister wanting to change his country even more so; not just the magical corruption, but also social.
But more clarification on elven mages in tevinter would be rad.
I'm still leaning towards "Dorian" being flaily hands guy in that survey. Or something.

I watched the video back to gather info for the dissection video and it gave me goosebumps, which it didn't do the first time around. It was too much to take in all at once the first time around, but subsequent times you can really soak in the atmosphere, especially with the music they used.
Gah, I can't wait for this bloody game to come out!!! I wonder when these dev diaries are gonna happen?
Well, they said the diaries had been delayed because of someone having pneumonia, right? Well, I guess it depends on whenever that person gets back.
Good grief, that video was beautiful. I'm also sad I watched it, I would have loved seeing those spectacular views for the first time while playing the game...
