Well I don't think the Vivienne she presents is the real her. Just copy and paste this from the Vivienne thread.
I'm thinking she's extensively reinvented herself. The 'barbed tongues of Orlais' makes me think she was initially looked down on for some reason, possibly for her not being Orlesian? Her accent seems proof of that, if the PAX demo is to be believed. So I think she's Ferelden, Rivaini, or some other nationality, came to Orlais and then changed her name herself. Which would fit in with the having no last name thing, or ' none she admits to'.
And yes, I am pro hair. That cool ponytail from the war room concept art preferably.
Yes I find her fascinating. I think she and would be pals LOL But still, I don't think my inquisitor will like her, especially for this whole "not being true to yourself" thing. I mean, he's Dalish. She's a (possibly non-native) Orlesian social climber. They couldn't have less in common!
(Not that it wouldn't work for some Dalish inqs, just not mine. I'm writing inq from now on; geez, that word is long. We better be called by something else besides inq.)

Hmm, looking at him up close, he kinda looks like bald Fenris to me, without the sexy cat eyes.
He has a pretty face, definitely.

B-But in all honesty I was just looking at her hands and thinking they looked creepy
Morrigan's, too. But then I hate long nails.

Do I have to post a picture of Bethany's hands? Because I will! And I will emotionally scar you so bad you'll have to chew your own hands off.

Based on what one dev said back in the old forum is that Viv is not gonna be the character we will like for soem reason I believe shes gonna be kind of a spoild brat lik, ok shes not originally from Orlais, but I think that if she has been looks down upon in the past and now shes miss "fancy pants" to me that will translate into a massive btch like u know when someone gets famous in RL and they say "oh im never gonna change" but some of them do ... and not in a good way ... they becom real full of them self and if she was Fereldan and if they say that she HATES ferelden fashion that to me tells me that she lost the sense of where she come from and now she is a snob

I think my Elfquizzy (always preferred Quizzy) will be confused by her more than anything. The Qunquizzy more so.

I think it's just the dodgy so-called 'lighting' they're in. It'll look better in game.

Is it just me, or are all the characters shiny? Like they've been bathing in baby oil.
Battlefield 4 is really shiny to.

I love her so much. She kind of makes me think of one of my good friends, Trent, who is a fabulous drag queen on his days off. I'll pretend she's my GBF.

Now, as Ive said in the past I hope Im wrong but im just going by what the devs said about her in the past... witch doesn't really sound like she will be *my* bestest fried, I mean me personally I like someone who is real , who remembers where they came from, and not be preoccupied with something that is nonsense in a time of terror such as fashion

Potentially life changing, world shattering news from Gaider:
There are different appearances for her. Some have different hats, some have no hat...but I'm not sure which appearances will be available in the final game. So I won't promise no hat, but there are at least variations
That's right, the Maleficent hat may be optional. Though I'm sticking to the pointy hat.

It would be cool to have the option for her to do both!

While fashion to us, in this century, in this world, and in some or most of our cultures, might seem frivolous in a time of war, it's clear that in Orlais fashion is indeed extremely important. It signifies status, wealth, rank, mystery, whatever. It's obvious to me that she's not just dressing fabulous because she's shallow or vain (though she may be) but because in her position it has importance and meaning and maybe..because she has to. Looking the part is sort of part of her job.

Yea but idk to me even in a "fantasy" world like that I dont think its THAT important to "stop the whole crew" to say that " oh OH wait a sec... I must decide witch fancy outfit to wear for this battle, otherwise My rank status wont show my strength due to the outfit I chose, and I may lose this fight, also I dont think those shoes will match that coat your wearing you must change so we will win" sort of thing.. idk to me it just sounds ridiculous

I agree. Based on the blurb given in her character kit, fashion is more than idle fancy to her. It can be just as much a weapon as it can be something good to look at.
