What irked me most about some of the ME2 squadmates was that if they were romanceable, it felt like they really didn't have much to say to you if you did not romance them.

This is my favourite
Why hello thar.
I have to admit I also really, really like Mr. Rhodes redesign!
I do wish Fenris' tattoos had seemed a bit more... what would be expected from Trevinter, though? I don't know what anyone else here thinks, but when I saw Fenris' lyrium tats they didn't scream 'these were burned into me by a jerk magister' but more 'someone got a bit too Dalish up in here'. ![]()

I don't know, Danarius does strike me as a bit of a fancy ******. We never do get to see much of his tattoos in the end. I wonder if we'll start to see more of his kind about soon? Or maybe finally see him phase through walls.
On the note of tattoos, I'd love to have the option to have intricate tattoos on my Inquisitor. Especially if I can have them on other areas beyond the face. Not in those places

I do see the issue.Then... romance the other LI? I confess I don't see why this is an issue.
First, one might find that none of the romances are desirable.
Second, I am not ashamed to say, romances are a HUGE deal for me in a BW game. Sure the game is so much more. But all that I can get in other games. Romances are fantastic and only BW can provide them brilliantly for me. So, yeah, huge deal!
Thirdly, as I mentioned previously, I like speculating and talking about the possible LI. Some of it will be about concerns and possible issues. Most will be shrill fan girl shrieking and flailing.
But that's just me, personally. Maybe MMG will be all cool and go 'why didn't I think I could just romance the other dude... Duh!.'

Spoiler
Yesssss.
I would love body tattoos. Even if the only time you got to see them was during the romance scenes (and when deciding to walk around in nothing but The Hat), that just adds something intimate about them~
Or scars. Please? Scars that aren't just facial scars.
Edit: And there are no words for how many tables I will flip if there is no freckles option.

I don't see why those options shouldn't be in the CC, especially with the engine change and already seeing both Cass and Varric with new scars.
I'd love freckles too, especially if the freckles extended down to the shoulders and back. Moles would be awesome too.
I've seen some people mention heterochromia too.
Also being allowed to give my males beards and edit their faces. That would also be rad. ![]()

I definitely get the speculation/wanting the perfect LI for your character thing, because, while romances aren't the biggest part of the game, they do add another wonderful dimension to the experience and let you develop your character in a way most games don't. I've played so many games where I've been way more interested in the world/every other character BUT the one I'm playing because they're rather flat in comparison. Bioware is one of the first games, where my created protagonist sometimes ends up being my favourite. I adore my Hawke, for instance, because he's more than just an avatar. Same with my Warden, and I imagine the trend will continue with my Inquisitor.
Saying that, I'm lucky in that I always find one option that's perfect for the characters I create, so I'm personally not too worried about the options. I hope everyone else can find someone they'll love to romance with their character, though. ![]()

Oh! I don't know if anyone else would like it, but I think it would be cool if your character could gain scars during fights and the like. It was an old feature in the Fable games. If you got knocked out and had to continue your character would gain a brand new scar. I once had one of the characters I made get the TAR beaten out of him just so he'd be all scarred up. ![]()
I would even be cool with Bioware having canon scars the Inquisitor gains through specific cut scenes and the like.

About the number of companions, I don't see the big issue. DAO had 8 companions (Shale was supposed to be in the vanilla game) plus Loghain and Dog. DA2 had 8 companions plus Sebastian (dlc). We only have one more companions in the vanilla game in comparison of the previous games.
I think it's more the idea that there could potentially be more LI's than usual that concerns Xili... or, it does me, anyway.

People are complaining about the nine? I'm not. Though I might have been if it wasn't for the increased amount of time and, I'm assuming, money they got from EA for DAI. More time means more can be written, and more money means more of that will make it into the game.

This! I would rather the four bisexual LI choices that are well developed than stretching the romance budget out over more characters.

Agreed, it would be a terrible shame to have all these in-depth characters having subpar romance arcs all for the sake of players getting to bump uglies with the pretty pixels.

Nine companions doesn't mean we'll get more romance. If they're still using the all bi/playersexual approach, I don't think they'll increase the number. There'll be more romances if they want to follow the 2 hetero, 2 gay and 2 bi LI approach, and ai don't think they'll follow it if they don't have the resources to do it without i hurting the romance paths, based on what Gaider stated about it.I think it's more the idea that there could potentially be more LI's than usual that concerns Xili... or, it does me, anyway.
I understand that having 6 LI can make people fear of having the ME2 treatment, but I want to point out that in boh the romance path and the dialogue with companions ME2 isn't that different from ME, and in the latter we got 6 companions and 3 LI.

Unless they take the ME3 approach and throw in a couple of npcs (like Cortez and Traynor).

I imagine the writers will handle whatever they do well, and it's a case of 'worrying about something that doesn't need to be worried about'. Still, the point remains, I guess? ![]()

I guess it'd possible, but I don't think it wouldn't be different from having 6 LI in the party. You still have to write the romance path for those NPCs.Unless they take the ME3 approach and throw in a couple of npcs (like Cortez and Traynor).
Though I don't understand which part of my post you were referring to.

Well, I personally found Traynor/Cortez's romance arcs to be lacking in comparison to the in-party LIs, but that's just my opinion.
