BTW, ElderKing, you're fighting the good fight in there! I still can't bring myself to comment and extend the life of the thread. I do love that on the first page, we have folks pointing out, yet again, that it's the haters and "dubiously neutral" folks who keep making all the threads. (altho I'm sure we'll still see the resurgence of the "new math" that tries to conclude the opposite. *sigh*)

I kinda wish/hope that the female voice sounds kind of like Cass or Aveline, or maybe Isabella perhaps, as long as it dosnt sound like my deep voice im good with it:P

I want to be voiced by Alix Wilton Regan, (Ser Cauthrien, Mhairi), if I must be denied a Welsh accent. Or Grey DeLisle, but she already played Velanna. Oh but her voice though!

I was curious, for those who were around when DA2 was in the works, how were Bethany and Carver's information released? Were they announced at once or separately? Was it known they were an either/or situation? 

 

Bonus: Does anybody happen to have that "Don't die on me milk chocolate!" captioned screen of Carver, because I don't have it saved shamefully.

We knew about Bethany waaaay before we knew anything about Carver. In fact, when we did find out about him, we just assumed he always died in the prologue. It took a while before the either/or situation was confirmed.

 

Bethany had a much more formal reveal while Carver was just kinda there.

Bethany was released first. Then when Carver was revealed, Hawke was a warrior so he always died, but Mike Laidlaw hinted that it was possible to save him. Most didn't want to though, he had this massive, derpy, inbred chin. It wasn't until much closer to release people worked out it was a matter of you get Bethany if you're a mundane, Carver if you're a mage. And it wasn't until after release people found out they buggered off after Act 1.

Thanks . I try only to read the thread, but I don't like when people assume things, expecially since this fanbase has proven to be pacific and reasonable.

Yeah, Bethany still does in the opening if I recall correctly. It was all part of Varric's exaggerations. There were meant to be many many more than there were in the final product too apparently. So many things had to be cut though from DA2.

I don't actually recall the Leandra bit. I'm glad Bioware didn't go overboard.
Not that I don't like Isabela's body (the opposite, actually), but not everyone has the same type of body. I'd like of Bioware, at least for companions and major NPCs manages to create different body types, for both males and females.

I don't know about Bethany. When she was revealed (and known to be your protag's sis) there were about 5 threads opened a day with people begging the devs to let them romance her.

 

Carver on the other hand was reduced to little more than a Bidoof.

LOL Right. I was gonna say, those breasts are still an option in the NPC body models that shipped with the game. 

 

I can still see why the framed narrative appealed to them, with all the questions it raises about the veracity of the story. Even if it raises questions about the veracity of the story.
