It's more a matter of me not caring enough. Most of the people who would brand us crazed fangirls are just too ignorant to not care about anyone opinions but their own or too full of themselves to even change their views slightly. I don't have time for those people in real life, why should I care on the internet?

Oh I thought you meant the Cullen threads. Yeah I post elsewhere. You know, cos I'm cool like that. But Cullen threads, mage/templar threads, Qunari threads...I post occasionally to correct someone or try to discuss something with someone decent, but otherwise I'll only read and like the posts that I agree with and or are awesome.

The main thing I don't like abt the main threads is that no one really discusses with each other unless it's to tell someone they're stupid. Otherwise most threads are a series of individual posts answering the OP. I feel like no one really 'sees' each other like they do here.

(Edit: but anything discussing Cullen? No way would I bother. Folks are too mean. )

I agree that they're the same topics (except the companions threads), but sometimes there can be interesting discussions.
As for myself, I have no problems posting in Cullen, mage/templar, elven, qunari threads. If someone want to insult me, so be it. I don't care much about it. I often lurk though because some convo go in circles.

It's not completely true. I've seen and partecipating in civil discussions, even with people that I don't agree with. It's true though that often the civil discussions are shadowed by those you mentioned.
About Cullen, I don't have problems defending my point of view, and this fanbase. I understand having different opinions about characters, but not if you assume things about people.

See, I don't mind people not liking Cullen, I don't even mind them being rude about him. What I don't like is when they attack the fans and/or come up with utter bollocks to try to justice why they don't like him.

 

I mean, Xili doesn't like him but her reasons are legitimate and her speculation plausible, but it's the ones that are all like: "yeah, well Cullen raped the mages" and then claim they have proof (based off nothing) that bother me.

Well I finally finished reading that entire Cullen thread... and .. have to say that most ppl in there are pretty reasonable and I think they are slowly starting to accept his inclusion into another game be it as a companion  or an NPC, now granted there are still a few haters in there... but not as many as it use to be before the E3 and after that

That's what really gets on my "breasts". People who make topics about him when they openly dislike him. And when people who just post things to start an argument. If I had 50p for every time I'd seen a thread almost completely derailed into a mage/templar fight, I'd be very rich indeed.

This is why I can't read them often. The recurring idea that we have some kind of lobby, and we can and will force the writers to replace [whatever interesting plot they had been planning to write for a party member the writers would have preferred to put in there] with Mary Sue Cullenfic.

Eh. It's very difficult to have a discussion about a mage or a templars that doesn't derail in a mage/templar discussion. But Indoibt this would change until after the final DA game.

I don think that they think that we can directly change the minds of Bioware. Just that Cullen's popularity will lead the devs to make him a LI companion.
Which is still false, since Gaider talked about it already. They won't bring a character back of there's not a plot interesting to write about him/her.

Yeah, that's pretty much the only thing that makes me get involved. I cannot abide attacks on the fans and the not-quite-veiled misogyny.

I just hope it won't be a voice that grates on my nerves. I couldn't gel with lady Hawke because her voice sounds too much like the posh/fake telephone voice I put on when dealing with toffs, lol.

 

 

The male inquisitor's voice seemed more rugged. SO.... sexxxxxyyyy... *drools*

So I'd imagine they'd try to match that with the female version.
