You know, I would love to see a little more of what the average person thinks of the whole mage-templar thing. We "know" that templars used to be the Inquisition before they submitted to Chantry authority, and that they were essentially a militia who protected against rogue mages running around the countryside terrorizing people. I wonder if, now that the mages have escaped the Circles, will we see some of that again? Mages extorting and bullying and oppressing common people now, because they can?

I suspect the templars will be doing more or less the same thing to get lyrium money at this point.

Yeah, you know, where will they get funds to support their activities? I presume the Chantry is rich from tithes and such... ? If they're more Inquisition like now, maybe they also run a pay-for-protection service? Mage busters? Who you gonna call? ;)

Ah, thanks for that pic this morning!

So far today, my kid woke up at 4:30am with one of his fevers and then later I sprayed myself in the side of the face with room spray ( clearly the nozzel should point AWAY from you). My head smells like apple cinnamon now....

And you thought the mages had it bad! LOL

LOL My pleasure! Gah, hope your day looks up. Sounds like it has to!

And apple cinnamon... yeah, my whole bathroom smells of apples right now as well, after kid decided to use the *entire* bottle of soap during bath to "paint the walls" last night. Oh yeah.<_<

Admittedly, I fall for the bait every time, so shame on me. But using a few video game characters' actions to make people's real-life religious beliefs look bad just to me seems iffy, and makes one's point rather moot as well. Today I'm defending Christianity - tomorrow, who knows?  Image IPB

And that picture is HILARIOUS! You're a gem! haha

Okay, new question for you guys (assuming we've never done this one) - do you think Cullen has any irrational fears? Like heights, or mice, or riding horses?

Well, he's clearly afraid of hookers... I mean, the "ladies" at the Rose. LOL I would find it amusing if he screamed like a little girl around bees or something.Image IPB

LOL.

But I'd imagine that due to the deadly effects of lyrium withdrawal -- paranoia, delusions, disorientation, inability to distinguish memory from present, dream from waking, reality from illusions, and possibly outright death -- they will return to being the Inquisition like they were once before, in more then just the name being equivalent to rogue Mage-hunters.

Hence why I call them the New Inquisition.

They'll plunder villages, ransack homes, steal from the villagers, possibly murder them, and Ancestors know whatever else all in an attempt to garner enough coin to pay smugglers or even Orzammar for lyrium -- because eventually whatever supplies they do have will run out, and the Chantry is no longer in a position to acquire lyrium for their militant arm. They have virtually no power.

It's also why I see Orzammar being featured in the war. Not as pro-Templar supporters, but as simply self-interested people. They'll more then likely assist the Mages in the war and shut their doors to the Templars. Or they'll assist the Mages and sell some lyrium to the New Inquisition, but not enough for the New Inquisition to really be self-reliant.

LOL - I was just going to say - enter some opportunistic dwarves and we've got ourselves a hit.  Image IPB

We may not always see eye-to-eye, TEWR, but I'm glad to have another dwarf-pusher on the forums!

By the way, if Cullen had an irrational fear, what do you think would be a fun one for him to have?

Actually, I thought you did a pretty good job of trying to nip that one in the bud early on. LOL you and Lola!  And, after all, you were also defending the forum rules, as one of the devs pointed out...  Ah, BSN... /facepalm

And that picture is HILARIOUS! You're a gem! haha

LOL just doing my part to keep the squee in this here serious discussion thread... ;)

Okay, new question for you guys (assuming we've never done this one) - do you think Cullen has any irrational fears? Like heights, or mice, or riding horses?

Oh, shoot, now back to the serious... ;)

Heh, that would be interesting. I think a fear of horses would be hilarious. I mean he'd never need or encounter one in the middle of Lake Calenhad, and given how many I've seen running around Thedas, horses seem to be rather rare anyway.   I would just laugh myself silly if the devs put in a nod like that to the no-horses in DA complaints!

.............

Cullen and the horse each eyed the other askance. "Maybe this isn't such a good idea after all..." he said, a sweat starting to break out on his forehead.

"Cullen, we'll never get to Val Royeaux at this rate. Is there a problem?" new PC asked.

"I... I've just never ridden one before... well, never even... seen one, in point of fact." When she raised a skeptical eyebrow, he continued to babble on defensively. "After all, they are not that common in Thedas.... And, what need do Circle templars have for horses...? This is why we keep the mages all in one place... no traveling needed. And, if we do there are ships... nice big ships... who don't bite. Or look at  you. Or smell..."

New snarky companion laughed. "Huh. Will you look at that. The templar is actually scared!"

"I beg your pardon!" Cullen said, his color rising. "I merely have some misgivings about the safety of this form of travel!"

"Cullen, you face down demons and blood mages everyday, but horses are too much?" PC asked.

"Are you certain these creatures aren't demonic in nature themselves? Look at those eyes!"

"Cullen..." PC started to say.

"...and did you see the size of those teeth?" he continued, shuddering.

"Did you see the size of my teeth? Get on the horse."

"But..."

"If it bothers you so much, we can find you a blindfold," PC added, smiling sweetly.

"Now this starts to get interesting," snarky companion said with a chuckle.

And Lola's an invaluable friend when I'm being trolled. She has a way of knocking the pompous right out of people!

OMG I'm keeping you. Seriously - can we be BSN friends forever? haha. And somehow I think you're spot on when you have him say "In point of fact." - I can totally hear that in his voice.

I want a pc in tNT that says things like "Did you see the size of my teeth? Get on the horse." so bad now.  Image IPB

Though that made me think... ships could be another great thing for him to be afraid of!

Another good one. Like, he spends the whole voyage green and puking over the side. And, the only thing people say to him throughout the trip is, "Don't throw up on me." LOL

Why do I love the idea of him and Isabela hanging out so much? Somehow I can just see her suggesting the two of them put the motion of the boat to work for them and watching him go from red, to white, to green, and then upchucking over the bannister again. LOL!

But of course! I am the noble Xanthos Aeducan, King and Paragon of Orzammar! We Dwarves must have ample representation in the DA games!

By the way, if Cullen had an irrational fear, what do you think would be a fun one for him to have?

Fear of monkeys/gorillas.

Or clowns.

If it was clowns, he would've been positively terrified of Tarohne.

So I think the Cullen forum is picking up major steam. Didn't we hit 200 pages just a few weeks ago? And now we're at 307!
