Oh, I didn't like Orlais before I read this, it's just that it's different actually seeing it in print. And my point was badly phrased, so I apologize for that ("thus far" wasn't really enough).

As I said in my edit, Celene is tolerable thus far. But if they do more lesbian relationship ruination in this book, I'll be extremely angry (although the fact that Celene isn't that likeable so far might soften the blow).

Yeah, it's a curious preview. I thought they'd just give us the first chapter, but it's one of those "look inside" certain fraction's of the book, like they did with WoT. So the pages each of us sees will probably vary... It kinda bummed me out, actually, because I was missing one page out of the first 20 or so... I think I'd rather see one full excerpt than this catch-as-catch-can approach.

It was on page 20, in the "look inside" version. My version jumped from mid-conversation between Celene and her set-down of the Chancelier to a discussion with someone with a "pseudonym." V. cool.
