Indeed. Perhaps news of the issues in Kirkwall during 9:37 spurred the Warden into action?

We know that something is going on with the Wardens but not what. Alistair even says he did a pinky swear to not tell. ![]()

I had always attributed some of the Warden problems to what Nathaniel was doing in the Primeval Thaig, on the orders of the First Warden.

I know the devs said they'd address that in DAI, so perhaps it's got something to do with these agents working for the big bad or something?

Shouldn't be, no. It's from my second DA2 playthrough in April 2011, and I don't think I had any mods just yet. Weird!

Sometimes I think a lot of this is down to the game being rushed out of the door, LOL.
Either way, the lesbian situation is a bad one, hence my concern with the new book.

Indeed. And on top of the whole issue in the Primeval + First Warden, remember that we have good ol' Cory running around as Larius or Janeka, and could be body-hopping into different Wardens as well.

I can definitely see your concern. When mine arrives I'll let you know as soon as I've finished reading it whether you'll be safe to read it or not. I'll get through it in a day, so you won't have to wait long.

All the romances end "badly" though. Zevran and the Warden apparently split; hell, he doesn't even acknowledge the relationship in DA2 and will go off to sex Isabela or Hawke if flirted with. And the ending of DA2 is the same regardless of who you romance. Damn, imagine being an Isabela fan and seeing the comics come out; she doesn't even mention Hawke I don't think. That would break my heart if Fenris did the same.

Zevran is a bug that wasn't fixed. He should've acted as he does in the case of US, I think. All the romances end "badly" though. I don't see the problem with the comic. It mean that in that Universe Hawke didn't romance Isabela.

The comics aren't canon for those whose paths would disrupt them; they follow Bioware's internal canon, which isn't necessarily true for all players (US Dalish Warden, for instance). And Zevran's issue was due to a bug, IIRC. Finally, while this may be true for the PC romances, the NPC romances have an even worse record: Leliana/Marjolaine, Branka/Hespith, the implication of Marjolaine/Dorothea... and these are echoed by other problems within ME. At least straight romances have Aveline/Donnic and Eamon/Isolde.

A bug they never bothered fixing... which says a lot about their priorities. (Can't imagine them not fixing a bug where Alistair pretends the Warden was never romanced.)

Eamon and Isolde? Really?

Eamon and Isolde? Really?
Their relationship does not seem to be unhappy, and it's possible for the Warden to keep them together without any major disruptions. Not so for any lesbian relationship (at least the latter part).

Yeah I agree about that; I see nothing to suggest that they are an unhappy couple.
That is a criticism I've seen of older BL manga, that the romances always end unhappily; I think as LGBT relationships start popping up more and more in our books/games/movies we'll see more varied depictions of those relationships (just like straight relationships). Something to look forward to ![]()

Aha! Ok, this was bugging me, since his armor definitely looks different in that screenshot, and it looks like I actually did have one mod (a Templar armor and Chantry robe retexture) installed at the time. I don't have it installed anymore, so not sure what mod it was, and there's no readme in the zip file I have.

Right there with you. I was actually pretty bitter about Zevran's imported romance being so bugged in DA2, since he's the only one my Wardens romanced. ![]()

God dammit. He pretty much just spoiled the entire damn thing. Amazon really should have put a damn cap on far people can read. This is absolutely ridiculous.
That seriously pisses me off.
