After the way everyone kicked off about the romance flags not popping correctly I think they learnt their lesson, LOL! That's another reason why we have the DA Keep now, so that we won't go in with our pitch forks again!

 

 

I hope they include the options for breakup, and then new relationship with different companion. You can do it at least 3 times in DA:O

LOL Naw, I think they've given him a last name, and only refer to him by that. Folks get confused and are constantly saying, [[wait for it]] "Who was that masked man?"

No, that was always there, and presumably all that was ever supposed to be there. I believe allowing folks to "Look Inside!" this morning was a mistake.

There were some accidental fairly major plot spoiler leaks for the Masked Empire.

Well if you don't care about plot spoilers, (to me the literary style and stuff is the actual spoilers anyway), the juicy stuff is right here.

Ok, it seems the news of the rebellion were greatly exaggerated... by Gaspard. Who else?

And there's this scene I want to read more about with Celene being held hostage by the Clan Virnehn of the Dalish, and trying to negotiate with them. But it doesn't seem to work well. Celene offers their Keeper and warleader (they're not the same, mind you) improved conditions for the City Elves, free emigration to the Dalish clans and honorary lordship over the Dales, trading partnership included. Look at that, I like that woman!

But the Dalish don't like that. The Keeper goes as far as saying that humans pollute them, that the City Elves are lost forever and that (I'm quoting here) "if you and Gaspard slew each other, and the war killed every human in Orlais, and burned every alinage to the ground... then we would be willing to return to the Dales".

Then the Keeper goes on to mention the Way of the Three Trees as to decide what to do with the Empress. Nothing very pretty, though.

There's a mention about the elves seeking to unlock "ancient magical mirrors that allow the elves to travel undetected across all Orlais". It does ring a bell, doesn't it? And then something bad happens. The preview doesn't say what it was, but it seems magical and bad, very bad.

If that does indeed turn out to be our bald elven mage. Speculation was that Patrick was writing his character, so it would make some sense. To me, anyway.

 

I usually won't read spoilers, but this particular one interested me enough. The spoilers didn't really seem that spoilery to me, to be honest. There's still a whole lot I don't know, yet. Can't wait for the book's release! Also bought Asunder and The Calling this month.

 

I'm reserving a section of our bookshelf to be the geekiest ever. So many Dragon Age things!

There seems to be an elven mage called Fellassan. From what I understand, he's neither City nor Dalish, hates humans, hates that neither group are doing anything to improve their situation and apparently speaks like Flemeth. There's also some speculation that he may be Baldy.

I actually felt the opposite. The setting and what we know of the storyline for the novel don't really seem to be a natural fit for Cullen to be involved, so I wasn't expecting him to be in it. I actually think it bodes better for him having an important role in DAI if his personal storyline is saved for the game rather than some of it being shoved into the book somehow. 

 

I pre-ordered the Nook version of the book and look forward to reading it!

I'm glad Cullen isn't in the book, I wouldn't put it past them to give him a love interest or an object of his affection, which would give me major confliction if he went on to be an LI in DAI.

Yeah likewise with the confliction! If I'm rooting for that romance, how can I root for a PC romance too?

 

Like much as I adore Varric, I can't romance him because I ship him with Cassandra and wouldn't want to come between them.
