Hm, so Greg Ellis started filming his first day of the second season of "Touch" yesterday. I wonder if that would conflict with the possibility of him doing Cullen's VA at all? Especially if he is a companion.

Man, I hope we don't end up with a new voice actor for him, I like his voice as it is. LOL, I think I'd laugh and cry at the same time if they used Adam Howden to take his place again!

Bioware use a company called SIDEuk to do their VA recordings in the uk, but I think SIDE operates all over the world, so depending on where the voice actor is based then they'll go to the one closest to them. I'd presume Greg would go to one in America somewhere. I know DG went to some live VO auditions in London a while back, maybe they held them elsewhere too?

I wonder what the Noble women of Kirkwall think of Cullen? I love the idea of them gathering in groups to perv at him whilst he does his rounds etc. I wonder if he had any offers of a dowry to marry the daughter(s) of rich Noble men? Templars are considered of high status right?

Okay...
1. No way. Terrible. Three left feet. Four even. Though he'll do the slow-dance waddle back and forth if he has to. Or has a very enticing reason to. 

2. Never thought about it. Mostly closed, I guess? With a few quick peeks just to make sure it's really real.

3. Proud that he can see where he grew out of his awkward years into something respectable, but not vain to the point of expecting to be found universally attractive. Still self-conscious that his beloved won't think he is - the silly.

4. Some hair, but not a beast! haha

5. I like to think he's a bit of a beer snob. But only drunk on very special occasions.

6. I actually picture Cullen being delighted to be asked to play a team sport or even card game, but that it pretty much never happens. The only people he spends time with are other Templars, and they're either in the gutter and only in it for the pay, or if they have his level of fervor it's because they hate mages. Like he's a social creature but has the misfortune of being the only white sheep in a black herd.

Lol! A whole lot of stepping on the PC's toes if she asks him to dance with her. Like during a masquerade ball or something (Which should totally happen by the way, since it's most likely going to be in Orlais. And the female PC MUST have a dress! No ugly pantsuit!). I can imagine every second word is going to be like;

Cullen: "Sorry!"
PC: "Ow!"
Cullen: "Urgh, I didn't mean to do that!"
PC: "Do you have, like, two left feet or something?"
Cullen: "No, three, actually"
PC:
Cullen: "Sorry, I'm new to this joking thing."

I'd love to be able to dance at the masquerade ball, like perhaps the protagonist has to dance with several sleazy nobles to get info out of them like in one those huge medieval style group dances and then finally you get to dance with your LI or which ever companion you choose to send into the dance with you. 

... OMG, wouldn't it be amazing if depending on your protagonist's gender you have to deal with either the male or female nobles to extract info, BUT you also have to bring one companion in with you to dance with the other nobles and try to do the same with them. Every now and again it could switch to a scene of your companion attempting to smooze "in-dance" whilst funny/awkward things would happen to them that would change depending on who the companion is. Could you imagine Cullen trying to extract info only to have some OTT noble women try to seduce him LOL!

Cullen: So.. uh, Miss, how well do you know this evenings host?
Noble woman: That ignorant pig iz mah 'husband.
Cullen: Oh... um, congratulations? How long have you been married?
Noble woman: Too long! 'e does not respect moi... I am, 'ow you say... a passionate woman. I 'ave needs... Desires *runs fingers across his chest, trailing them down to his belt*
Cullen: Wha?... OH! Oh my, I-I-I I'm sorry I'm not...
Noble woman: Hush, now mah pretty, let us take zis dance l'upstairs and talk ze language of lurve

Hahaha! Lola, that's awesome! I can hear that god awful accent just by reading it. You know, I was thinking (uh-oh)... what if he had to get info from her boudoir. Then he'd have to go up with her.... maybe slip her a mickey. By the time our PC catches up with him to check progress, I could only imagine the uncomfortable "this isn't what it looks like" scene they'd walk in on.

LOL! We'd bash our way into the bedroom to find the poor man tied to the bed with silk scarfs as the Noble woman dances around him in her undies pouring champagne on him as she's about to lick it all off!

Welcome, MinttyMint! The more the merrier!  And, on the pants suit... you may be... I thought Tallis's outfit was awesome, but I thought f!Hawke should have differed a bit more from the male version. :shrug: I'm now pinning my hopes on a ballgown!!  If she's wears pants to a ball, I may scream bloody murder.

And, MissRedZelda and Lola, those bits were both great!!  EDIT: I particularly liked "Sorry, I'm new to this joking thing." LOL No kidding, my son.

Gah, Lola, give your, erm, vivid accent, I imagined the scene having the PC come over to rescue Cullen and the *masked* woman says, "Who iz dis woman, Cullen??" and, it ends up Isolde has been spending some time in the mother country. LOL

But, anything that includes poor Cullen being out of his depth by flirting or being flirted with would just be comedy gold.

So, on the dancing, I keep imagining that somehow that would be part of his officer training. I suppose realistically, I can't imagine why a templar would really need to know that... but that's always been my headcanon. So, he's not, you know, Sebastian on the dance floor, but he can keep up.

I also agree with brushyourteeth on the team sports. I continue to imagine him being alone... I increasingly like the idea of him being wistful about that fact and wishing he were not so isolated. So, in practice, I do see him as a de facto solo sport guy.

Vain or oblivious about his appearance? I always imagined him completely unaware of how smokin' hot he is, and as such, puzzled by the female recruits and shameless female townsfolk constantly throwing their lures at him.

For example, I always imagine a scene with the female recruits like the opening scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark. First, most of Indy's class are women mooning over him. Second, one of them has written on her eyelids the words "Love" and "You." I imagine Cullen's reaction being similar to Indy's awkward stumble when he notices.

I think I'm in two minds about Isolde appearing in DA3. For one thing, I cannot stand the woman and her constant shrieking. She says that she did all of it to protect her son, but she always seemed more concerned about her social standing on the thing then her son's well-being. Plus there was the whole thing with Alistair - but Eamon was as much to blame for it than just her.

Now, back on topic. Lol, poor Cullen. Do you think he's had much "experience"? I've always headcannoned that he had something going on with either the F!Amell and F!Surana (depending on who you play as). Whether they went all the way, I'm still trying to decide. What do you guys think?

Protagonist: "Cullen! What have I told you about pestering the nice Orlesian ladies! I'm so sorry Madam, he gets a little... Over excited sometimes, I bet he's forgotten to take his meds again. Cullen have you taken your meds?"
Cullen: "My meds? Wha..."
Protagonist: *Gives him "The Look"* "Forgive him, the boy is a little bit... "special" *nudges Cullen in the ribs*"
Cullen: *Gives protagonist a look of daggers* "Their coming for me mother... The spiders, in the cupboard... They want to eat my eyes! Beep beep! I'm a nug!... *Drools*"
Noble woman: *Looks confused and slightly disturbed*
Protagonist: "Come along now dear, let's get you home" *Takes his arm*
Cullen: Yay! *Allows himself to be lead away until they're out of ear shot*
Cullen: "Sweet blood of Andraste protagonist "he's a little bit special"?! Was that really the best you could come up with?!
Protagonist: "I could always leave you in her... Capable hands, I'm sure she'd take great delight in tucking you into bed..."
Cullen: "NO! ... *Ahem*... No, thank you... *Sigh* I need a drink, Maker preserve me."

I'm not sure, she does look back at him as she leaves the circle tower, so maybe she was friendly with him or had a crush on him... Or maybe she looked back to see his reaction, knowing that he liked her lol. I guess that was left purposely ambiguous for us to fill in the gaps.

As for if he's ever "done the deed", I dunno. They make it seem like he hasn't, but I'm not sure they'd want to go down the whole "virgin Templar" thing again so soon after Alistair.

As for me . . . I suppose . . . yeah, they did it. My Amell, especially, and it was the first time for both of them. I mean, they were genuinely in love and all that, so it sorta makes sense, I guess. But then the whole breaking into the phylactory thing happened, and that was the end of it for them. Then, she moved on to Alistair and he was her second love. Just how I choose to read the game in that aspect.

My head canon is that my Amell was completely oblivious that Cullen liked her, and thought all the gossip and rumours about him liking her was just the other apprentices gossiping and making up rumours out of boredom. Alistair was her first love both sexually and romantically and they've been together ever since. My Warden only has eyes for Alistair, however she did think Cullen was an attractive man, but never gave it any thought beyond that during her time in the Circle..

Hopefully Cullen will be romancable in DA3, so I can give him a protagonist all to himself who he won't have to share the affections of, or lose to someone/something else.

You know there was that hidden unused dialogue file for Cullen that had various lines like battle cries, agree/disagree dialogue etc, suggesting he was going to be a temporary companion at some point? It makes me wonder if perhaps the original plan was for him to aid us in Jowan's escape quest whilst we were still in the Circle? Maybe we would have been able to talk him into helping us, or sweet talking him into it if you were female? I imagine that would have cost him his job, so it's just as well that they decided to keep him as a full NPC in DA:O really, otherwise we might have completely lost him forever!

My own Surana barely acknowledged that Cullen even existed; he was a templar and not raping anyone, so there wasn't much else to be interested in.

I always got the impression from the dialogue that nothing actually happened between him and female Amell/Surana. When he talks about being tempted with "something he always wanted but could never have" it seems like he never "had" her, as it were. But, I suppose the temptation could have been something more that built upon what they had, like a happily ever after.

Personally, I think he was too duty-bound at the time to risk something like that... But I agree that they left it pretty open ended so you can imagine what you like.
