Oh, apparently that new book is real.
Was there any doubt?

From the twitter thread:
Just hanging out with the unbelievably talented @TemplemanSimon.....feels like old times #DAI
ohmyfreakingod, LOGHAIN!!! pleasepleaseplease
It does say, however, to make sure that everyone is following this religion, so extrapolating that one should deal harshly with those who follow other religions is far easier than not. As for the bit about mages... that's why I prefer the Imperial Chantry's interpretation.
I'm really not a Chant of Light expert, but doesn't it just say the Chant of Light should be heard from all corners of the world and the Maker shall return? That could mean missionary work rather than exalted marches and jerk moves. So again that's the Chantry's doing rather than the religion itself?
Brother... oh, what was his name now? Burkle? The dwarf who opened the Chantry if you did his quest for him. He was very peaceful about it.
I wouldn't be insulted if they went the bad or good God route, but I would be a little disappointed at a part of the lore I find interesting and very real to suddenly be turned into something that seems simple, I guess I mean?
This reminds me of Star Wars and the revelation that the Force was all about Midi-chlorians. Maybe it was in their Deep Lore all along, but I would've been happier not knowing!
Also, once we understand the mystery of the various religions, the Black city and the Fade, I feel like the game would be sort of... over, or soon after those revelations. And I'm definitely not looking forward to that.
Edit: Well, actually, I guess the series would take a much different turn and could continue. It'd be a brave new world.
I can understand that; I think so long as it's well written I'll be happy. I trust DG
I guess I like ambiguity! I'll be a sad, sad panda if Flemeth is reduced to 'just a big baddie', though I have faith that she will not be.

Apparently he can get rather nasty about "heathens" with certain dialogue options.
At least he won't be in my game.
And once again, Maker bless the Dragon Age Keep. I've never let him live either, but my lateblooming Loghain interest means I'm too bored with DA:O to get as far as the Landsmeet again. ![]()

Me, too, I LOVE Flemeth! In the Flemeth v. Morrigan match, I support Club Flemeth ![]()

I don't think I ever got those-- or my memory is terrible, I might have to replay that part to refresh the ol' memory. Still, he was at least peaceful in his demonstrations and the like judging from what we know and are told.
OK, will you people please stop saying such interesting things... I actually have to work now... ahem. ![]()

Yesssss. So much this.
I like Morrigan, but sorry, bby. Flemeth is my QUEEN.
(Also the Star Trek fan in me totally geeked out over her and Zathrian when I first played.
)
OK one last thing.

Ah, so I believe that makes the events overall canonical but likely to just happen differently depending on world states? Or world states might not matter at all if it's set before the games.
God damn, they are going full out this year, guns a' blazing. This truly is the year of the Dragon Age.

No it's the 'Dragon Age' ... I'm going to sit in the shame corner and feel shame.
Aw maaaaan, and I won't get to see him because Alistair had to go kill him.
... I couldn't ever sacrifice Alistair though, the man is perfection.
