What? You're not some sort of 1950's sitcom housewife?! Illusion. Shattered.
W-what're you saying??? Thread Mom has two twin beds in her bedroom. And one foot firmly on the floor. ![]()
But in Asunder, wasn't he a mage brought to the tower and forgotten about?
That was the original child called Cole. This is the spiritual entity that absorbed that child's memories and appearance, becoming what we know as "Cole".

LOL "spiritual entity" is probably about as a precise a term as we should use!
And, yeah, leak def called Cole a rogue... but then... Man, who knows anymore. But if Cole is in, then yeah, I guess DG would be his writer. Actually, whoever the Asunder character is. There's still a small part of me that hopes it's Evangeline. ![]()

Still, he would still technically be a mage though right? When Justice joined with Anders, he still remained a mage even though Justice was a warrior in Awakening.
Yeah, I would love to see Evangeline or Rhys.

Except this isn't possession. The child itself died, and only the spirit remained. It was a pure spirit that could keep itself grounded in the mortal plane through the killing of others. So he could have magical elements about him, but that doesn't mean he's a mage.

If it's like a cameo or NPC role, yea me too. It was never confirmed that the Asunder character was a companion after all. No Evangeline companion though, as that would take up the third warrior role and I'm still clinging desperately to the hope that Cullen is the third warrior ![]()

Ahhh ok, I had mistaken it as a possession similar to Justice/Anders. In that case yea he would def lean more towards the rogue role.

I think all Cole is a demon/spirit/spiritual entity, without the host body. He just disappeared when Lambert used the Litany of Adrala on him. So I dunno. I guess I figured they called him a rogue in the leaked survey because of his 'now you see him, now you don't, wait who are we talking about' gig.
On, and as Muse said I don't think he said that he wrote just two companions.
Obviously not but I am speculating that it's unlikely that he's writing three full companions, especially since he gave up writing novels since he's already overworked as head writer!
No! Cool as she is, you'd all hate to see Evangeline that...similar to Cullen...tart!
We mean as an important NPC, not a companion. Chill, my dear.
But in Asunder, wasn't he a mage brought to the tower and forgotten about?
Edit: As far as Dorian being a companion (not sure where this came from either but like I said I am woefully behind on gossip) I'm assuming he would be a LI, as would Solas. Really don't think they'd make two male LI companions as the same class, they seem to favor different classes for each same gender LI, right?
1. Yeah, that's the thing about Cole; god knows what he truly is!
2. GOOD POINT. Even if Dorian is in, NO WAY he and Solas are both LIs.

He was using blood magic through the killing of others to stay grounded on the mortal plane. Lambert reading the Litany disrupted that, dispelling Cole's link to the mortal world, making him disappear (presumably back to the Fade)

We don't know 100% if that's what happened though.

My guess is Spirit of Mercy or Despair, based upon how he remained with the orignal Cole, and granted a mercifcul death to those other mages.
Either way, he is a totally new spirit, the likes of which we have never seen, and he seems pretty damn powerful.

It's possible he wrote two and then the rewrite came along. hard to say. I just remember we had this conversation when he was tweeting about all that, it seems plausible to me. Man, who knows.

Based on what he told Lambert at the end, it explains why he had always thought he was the original Cole.

I still feel we don't know 100% if he is just a spirit....

What was the rewrite issue again?
So you're thinking the rewrite was his 2nd LI?
So Cass and Cole would be his first two companions, then he had to do a rewrite of a third, and that became his second LI?
I still feel we don't know 100% if he is just a spirit....
Indeed. He could very well be some kind of anomaly. I think he is a spirit, just a different sort never encountered before.

TBH it's still not clear to me why the Litany worked on him and how blood magic and the 'mind control' aspect came into it. But regardless disappear == no host body in my book! LOL
"who's there?"
"nobody. I mean, no body. Mr Boddy's body. It's gone!"

I don't want to waste time arguing about Cole... but I will say that I don't consider Cole a good judge of even himself; he is not a stable individual. He's not a reliable third person limited narrator either.
So for me the jury is still out on what Cole is.

Oh, good point about the mind control...Well Lambert read the book, which dispelled the invisibility spell Cole was using, which I bet was just a form of using blood magic mind control on others. Perhaps what Lambert told him afterwards shocked the entity so much that he just disappeared.
Haha, there are so many different possibilities lol.
