Cullen is pro-templar. We don't know if he remained in the Chantry or joined the rebellion.
Mind you, I'm not against Sebastian.

Cullen is very pro-Chantry (meaning he is very religious) as well as pro-Templar; as for the templars, it's more about serving the Maker and doing his duty than any true loyalty to the Order, you know? That's why he stuck with his principles and defied the leader of said Order in Kirkwall.

lol! you guys.

And yes, I love Seb. I love that voice. I could just lay down and listen to him read a very long story, and be completely at peace. And everybody threatens to burn down Kirkwall. Poor Kirkwall. I mean, if you don;t kill Anders........

I've killed Anders more times than I haven't. eeeee.

I would love to Maev. in game. Somehow I don;t think they'd do her character as dlc, but it would be really cool to see her in game. She seems like a fantastic char.

His eyes are gorgeous, but I don't take kindly to being threatened because I chose to spare a life.

Different strokes, different folks lol

Word. And, I was just kidding! Shoulda been more clear.

Oh, shyte, R2! I've not seen that. It looks very much like that. But that's sooo rogue w/such alot of armor in the concept. But it really does look like that hidden blade thing. Huh.

Sooo, who could the 2nd companion be David's writing?

Looking at those tweets again, I'm not 100% sure they suggest he's literally writing a 2nd companion. He could be editing/overseeing a character as head writer after the first writer gets done with it, you know?

You're right about him being very religious, though I woudn't bet on him remaining with the Chantry, though I think we should wait and see how the templars split (including the divine Loyalist) in DAI.

If he is, I think it could be Cullen. If he was the one Hepler wrote before she left, he may have needed some extensive rewrites to deal with any changes or stuff.

Hmm, dunno. This is all I've found so far about the rewrite. I thought it was also a tweet. But now I'm thinking I mixed that up with the "writing second follower" tweet.

My post earlier in thread:

DG has posted a rather personal year end tribute and has this to say about Inquisition.

"* But mostly this was the year that I just kept working and working and working on Inquisition. I heard “this is the last time we’re blowing plots up, I swear” approximately three times, did a complete top-to-bottom re-write of two full plots and one follower, got to write one follower who I’ve been itching to write since I started writing for BioWare 15 years ago, and otherwise vacillated between feeling like a useless ****** with writer’s block and an utter rock star who made everything I touched in the game better."

I'm increasingly intrigued about this character he's wanted to write for 15 years. And, now also about which follower was rewritten top to bottom. Hmm.

Hmm, I dunno. I think the dude in the front is probably the Inquisitor, complete with usual Inquisitor-ish silhouette and flappy bits. I figure, it's badass concept art. I don't think I'd put our hero at the back.

If they were going for a rogue Inquisitor, I think it would make sense. (Didn't they say DAI was supposed to be the Rogue's time to shine [hahaha funny]?) Also I just have this... thing for tank!Cullen leading the charge. Also, I'd put money on the character with the helmet being the Inquisitor.

It maaybee the one Hepler had written. And maaaybee that's the one David is rewriting. With the scene that made Ben Gelinas feel like a human being!

Wait, but Hepler didn't actually write anything for DAI cause she had left before, hadn't she?

Yeah, this is also my thought. He didn't overthrow Meredith just because she was "bad." He did because what she was doing was "not what the Order stood for." He seems to have a rather strong notion of what the Order truly stands for (whether or not that overly idealized is another issue) and mutinies because of it. I have a hard time imagining that the new Order or whatever Lambert created would be sufficient for him. But, of course, we don't know. What we do know, via WoT, that not all templars have left the Chantry.

Gaider stated that she wrote for DAI, including a plot/main quest.

I'm of the mind that he is a leader for the Templars that remained with the Chantry...and I bet he wasn't one of the 15 Knight Commanders that met with Lambert at the end of Asunder either.

Mmmm... I can't imagine a writer's muse being involved with overseeing or editing, though.

"Hard at work on my second #DAI party member. This is one of those rare times the muse comes easily. "

I think I'd be hardpressed to interpret any other way than actually writing it. Then, MLaidlaw says he can't wait to read it. Would seem kinda lame to take such credit for someone else's writing.

The templars that left the Chantry might not follow every Lambert's principle though. I can see the templars very fractioned with different ideas and views. Lambert was very good in unite templars and Seekers theough charisma and fear, his successor might not possess those qualities.

Well, R2, it sounds to me that David wrote 2 plot rewrites and one follower rewrite. In additon to the 15 year one. And he did mention 2 followers he was working on.

And whatever char. Hepler wrote would most def have to be reworked cuz of all the changes that have gone on. Somebody took up her character. But who and what that char, was...?

Could be. The armor looks similar to many in the male Inquisitor fashion review at GDC, complete with gauntlet sword thingie.

Agreed on the second part.
on the first, I'd like if it'll be true, but I'm not completely sure it'll be like this.

I think Cullen's pro-Templar...ness is actually one of the most compelling reasons for having him as a companion. We need the sane counterpoint to the Red Templars, telling us that, yeah, those guys are really really awful, but not all Templars are like that! And they do good things! Really!

(Could part of Hepler's main quest be Cullen? Cullen recruitment? Thinky-thoughts.)

Hmm... I may have read a book with a very different Lambert in it... Regardless, we don't know. But given the similar templar training and background, both very duty driven, and for most of their lives Chantry allied, Cass and Cullen still seem cut from a very similar cloth. For him suddenly to be dramatically different from  her will take some explaining.

Personally, I see that as his biggest obstacle for being a follower, frankly.

Idk, did Hepler take the reins for any of the big Templar quests in DA2?

What? His similarity to Cass? If anything, I can see how they could be in great contrast to one another.

I believe Hepler wrote Anders.
