Well, R2, it sounds to me that David wrote 2 plot rewrites and one follower rewrite. In additon to the 15 year one. And he did mention 2 followers he was working on.

 

And whatever char. Hepler wrote would most def have to be reworked cuz of all the changes that have gone on. Somebody took up her character. But who and what that char, was...?

Or it could be Tonia's character. We  used to theorize that she wrote Cullen back before she left  BW.

Wow, looking at that last pic, it does look like MysterioMaleWarrior/Rogue has on Inquisitor armor. The helmet and everything. All of it.

 

Maybe it's a default warrior design? Cuz the guy in the front of the pic really looks to be wearing the Flappy Inquisitor Coat thing.

That's what I think, but :shrug: who knows. What's interesting is that I think it's actually kinda hard to tell the difference between mages, rogues, and warriors in these pics. I almost wonder if they're all rogues, TBH.

Somehow, tho, I would imagine that since Hepler did do Cullen in DA2 that it would be a natural choice for her to do him in DAI...until she left.

What? His similarity to Cass? If anything, I can see how they could be in great contrast to one another.

Yes, I see them as very similar in their faction/orientation. Personality-wise I could see them conflicting quite a bit. But it's the first reason that I think argues against his inclusion since they've said they want followers to be sort of proxies for various world attitudes/positions.

 

Or he could now be a wandering drunkard, fighting anonymous battles for the disenfranchised, the Templar With No Name... dun dun dun...

Cullen's contrats w/Cass would prolly depend on if Cullen has lost his faith a bit. It depends on so much we just don't know. His story. His possible story, that is.

 

I wish I knew if Cullen was a follower so we could move on to speculating what his storyline would be.

*sighs* I know, right? Even if he is a companion (which I still sadly doubt), it feels like they won't reveal him until the very end. Think of all that time that will have been wasted; we could've been speculating madly... I mean, we already do that, but imagine if we actually KNEW more stuff about him and his role in DA:I?!

 

The thing is, we know he's going to be in there. I think sometimes that's easy to forget. That's intriguing, because they didn't have to put him there. Let's assume he's not a companion and "just" an NPC. Why Cullen? As a bit of a joke? "Well, we had him in DA2 so let's put him in DA:I!" Doubt it. There's a reason they picked THAT character; he has a role to fulfill in DA:I

I think he'd be a very interesting NPC character. I mean, that's what he's been thus far and we're all still obsessed with him. His perspective could be very interesting to see in an advisory station, offering his thoughts on the Red Templars specifically, and the mages. 

 

That said, if he is an NPC I expect him to die, or for them to pull a Joker and hook him up with Scribe Girl. *curls into a corner and whimpers*

Btw, I think that the 'stabmurderknife the map' picture is cool if you think about it from the circle of people perspective like someone mentioned.

It was me who was getting paraphrased here. I was deliberately leaving out Maybe!Cullen because I didn't want to read even more into it than I already had, but... since what I said worried you, I'm going to state for the record that my opinion is actually the exact opposite of this.

 

In the War Room art, Maybe!Cullen breaks toward the inner ring - like I said, directions of movement, and his movement is forward. A few seconds ahead of the picture, he will be closer to the Inquisitor rather than further away like Mustache Guy will be. Even though he is visibly concerned, in terms of his body language he leans toward the Inquisitor like Varric and Cass rather than away like Mustache Guy. For me the characters split into clear thirds in their motion, and the inner third is Maybe!Cullen, Varric, and Cass.

 

Okay, but for the record? This is just one picture and I am way more conscious of people's positioning and movement than most people are because of my job (needing to know not only where people are at all times but where they're about to be.) It is highly possible that I am seeing things that were not intended or are unimportant.

 

I am not extrapolating anything about the game or Cullen's status from this - I'm just calling what I see.

She touched just about most every side of the mage/templar argument in DA2 alone.
