I think there's prolly far more to Vivienne. And yes, she may be Imperial Enchanter now, but I don't know where she came from, what were the circumstances like that led her to this position? Was she, too snatched from her parents? How old was she when she got dumped into the Circle.? What was that like for her?

 

Yes, she worked her way through hook and crook, but was it simply survival? A way to survive within a situation that you know there's is no way out?

 

Her motivations for having to be on top and have such power and influence may just be a way of protecting herself. Without knowing her background, it's hard to know what her motivations are, and what brought her to this point.

 

Heck, yeah, she's gonna do whatever she has t do to survive, have power---for a mage--influence and being on top. So that, maybe, she never has to be vulnerable again. Or at the mercy of sum Ser Alrick type creature. So, maybe, she did what she had to do. And if the mage rebellion fails, they're all abused and dead. Viv may simply be thinking that this gonna get them all killed.

 

Ah, headcanon. lol! But until we know her story, which won't be until in game, we'll see.

Or maybe Viv doesn't have as much power as you think she does. Power to free the mages. It may be a tenuous hold on power as it is.

 

Perhaps she is whispering in ppl's ears, trying to push sum type of reform instead rebeliion. I don't know. I would need to hear her story first.

Personally, I don't like any Awakenings companions, other than Oghren. I found it really boring and I think I played it only twice. I thought Nathaniel was good looking, but that was about it. I wanted Seneschal Varel as a companion so badly, love me some older men =P

I love the fan art that comes out w/char. reveals. It gives the characters this nice extra dimension. I wonder if the devs like it? i mean, I know they like it, but I just wonder how it is for them to see the characters come alive in the fan's hearts like that.

Sometimes, I think I'm the only one who actually likes Velanna.

You know... I'm basically Velanna-neutral. I find that in replaying DA:O and DA:A I pretty much makes the same choices over and over, and so I end up recruiting her last and never getting to know her past  her 'I hate you' exterior. Same with Oghren, who I can never get to 100% approval because he's always last. I sorta feel like I never got to know the first games characters nearly as well as I know the DA2 ones.

Indeed. It's hard to look away. And it's such a good mesh. The body and face. It blends so well. Right proportions and everything...

So, true. I do feel as though I don't really get  a chance to know them well. And I get Oghren last even tho Orzammar is my fav level, but it's kinda hard. Lol! I need more XP before I tangle w/that Broodmother.

 

She whips w/ her teats everytime otherwise. Just pow, pow, pow, slap, slap! Oh, Lud. So, I don;t get to bond w/Oghren as much.

 

Velanna--whew--she was rough. But she got better later. And the banter she has w/Nathaniel really helps to show another side to her.

Daaaaamn, you guys are moving this thread fast  I already have something done for 4000, but I'm hoping I can get this side project done in time for it too. It's not Cullen related, but I have a feeling a lot of you will like it anyway. Keep it up!

I feel the same way about Velanna, def don't give her enough time to really move past that rough exterior, but I feel for her on the sister front. If something ever like that happened to my sister, I would pretty much give no f*cks about anything or anyone else besides getting her back safe. I adore Oghren though, I like to get Orz out of the way early so I usually grab him first or second.

And just imagine w/ the frostbite engine and all we've seen so far of the ingame char pics. Like that pic w/Viv. The detail. The clarity. So, realistic.

 

If Cullen is a companion..and all that disclaimer bs...if he looks anywhere near as good as Viv in those pics, I'm crumple to the ground when I see him.

 

If BW loves us theyll have Cullen. If they really love us, his first scen and recruitment story will find sum way to have him shirtless. (Nothing like Conditional love, eh? Lol!)
