I can relate to that and respect that way of thinking though. I mean when you fight for something, REALLY fight for it, and you discover that you've actually succeeded, and you get this little power trip... it's heady, man. I'd do anything to keep it. I'd never want to go back to the way things were before.

So, true. I do feel as though I don't really get  a chance to know them well. And I get Oghren last even tho Orzammar is my fav level, but it's kinda hard. Lol! I need more XP before I tangle w/that Broodmother.

 

She whips w/ her teats everytime otherwise. Just pow, pow, pow, slap, slap! Oh, Lud. So, I don;t get to bond w/Oghren as much.

 

Velanna--whew--she was rough. But she got better later. And the banter she has w/Nathaniel really helps to show another side to her.

 

 

I feel the same way about Velanna, def don't give her enough time to really move past that rough exterior, but I feel for her on the sister front. If something ever like that happened to my sister, I would pretty much give no f*cks about anything or anyone else besides getting her back safe. I adore Oghren though, I like to get Orz out of the way early so I usually grab him first or second.

Yeah, I guess it always seems like I would have liked her,  particularly after hearing other folk talk about her. I should probably go back and continue my latest Awakenings, Orlesian Warden has a crush on Nate playthrough... hmm....

You know... that new description almost makes it sounds like she cares more about herself, her personal power and her position at court than even about the Circle... Curious to find out more.

When it comes to making a list of favourites, I don't think I can. Not an accurate list, at least. I like too many of the characters for too many different reasons, and I feel it would be entirely inaccurate if I tried to tier them. Even if I did manage to throw a list together, I feel it puts a certain image in people's heads that wouldn't be true. Such as the assumption I dislike the last character on the list rather than simply not liking them quite as much as others.

 

Except Sebastian. And Tallis.

 

They have all my 'are you freakin' kiddin' me' faces. 

 

 

As for Vivienne and her motivations...

 

While potentially very focused on the self, that doesn't necessarily mean she is a selfish person or that her motivations are bad and possibly un-noble. She could be like Anora-- or what I believe Anora is like, to avoid the 'Anora is a power hungry female dog' discussion. Yes, you could see her motivations as selfish, but who the hell would want to hand over a country they'd been ruling for years to a man child who just happened to have a name and respected blood in his veins? I sure as hell wouldn't. Not when I know nothing about him, and my very first impressions of him are a boy who doesn't want to lead in the first place. 

 

It sounds like Vivienne worked her butt off to get to where she was before everything fell apart. It wasn't handed to her on a silver platter. It wasn't a walk in the park to climb to the station she held. She had to work against detractors and her own self, as I'm sure a mage would be judged more harshly than any other woman working within politics. Orlais is also brutal with the Game it plays. She did it, however. Despite the bullcrap she did it. And then some freedom fighter over in Kirkwall sets off a chain of events that tears it all down even before the events in DA:I.

 

She's allowed to be pissed. She's allowed to want what she worked so hard for re-established. But just because she wants that doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't truly believe the circle is the best option. Supporting the circle doesn't mean supporting the templars' abuse. It could just mean supporting mages being properly educated as they should be, because hell, they are dangerous. Like it or not, mages do have a weapon infused into their bodies they can't put down and this weapon is in danger of being hijacked by a malevolent force every waking hour. 

 

This is just speculation, of course. Still, it's fun.

Cass is a Seeker, which is above the templars; so having Cullen as a companion as well with your character being the Inquisitor who can trump them both would be a very interesting take on things, to me. 

 

Cassandra may not enjoy being a follower, and Cullen may be concerned how she and the Inquisitor may change the Order.

If we didn't have Cassandra already confirmed, or if we didn't already have more warriors than I wanted, then I'd be fine with having him. But after the disappointment and rage of Vivienne, I don't really want to add more adversarial relationships with a class I'm uninterested in to my party. I'm only even here because I like most of the people in this thread, and it's active.

I think if we have both Cullen and Cassandra as companions, then either the Chantry is going to have a much larger role this time around, or they both have very differing perspectives about the Chantry. I'd be quite displeased if this isn't the case.

My personal hope is that the Chantry is too gutted to do much of anything, and the reason Cassandra is with the Inquisitor is that restoring order will be the only hope for the Chantry... one that I may or may not snuff out.

As much as I'd like to do that myself (or help spread the Black Chantry mwahahaha), I think it would be more likely for the Inquisitor to create a new branch of the Chantry, even against their wishes or without their knowledge.

I have no idea how her hair looks like so I gave her red flapper hair for the lulz...After all we already have a blonde and a black haired lady!
