LOL Me, too! Glad someone got my totally unnecessary reference.
"Do you like Kipling, Ms Scarlet?" "Sure, I'll eat anything."
Clue references are never unnecessary!
"Oh Wadsworth, I'll make you sorry you ever started this! One day, when we're alone together..."
"Mrs. White, no man in his right mind would be alone together with you!"

Speaking of... I'm curious about you guys' ranking of companions from both games
Followed by... ranking of (including potential) DA:I companions!
I don't have a ranking for DA:I yet because I don't feel like I know the characters well enough to say. But for the other games, I'll do a top ten:
1.) Fenris
2.) Alistair
3.) Aveline
4.) Wynne
5.) Varric
6.) Sebastian
7.) Morrigan
8.) Leliana
9.) Zevran
10.) Awakening!Anders
Beyond that it gets hard to put people in order. I only had Bethany for about five minutes, and the Awakening characters didn't really get a fair shot at being favorites because my game was so buggy - I didn't get to do Velanna's or Sigrun's quests, for example, so I didn't feel like I really got to know them.
I will admit that my first playthrough is gonna be a disaster. The first one is always terrible for me in DA games. My main goal however in my first playthroughs is that I try to make sure both my LI and I stay together, and he doesn't end up dead somehow. Whatever else happens, happens. Que sera, sera.
Overall my first/canon playthroughs have been good. My Hawke dropped the ball hard with Keran and my Warden wouldn't have done the Summoning Sciences quest if she knew what the outcome would be, but that was in-character for them both.
My Warden ended up married to Alistair ruling Ferelden, and my Hawke got to keep her Fenris - so the course of love ran oddly smoothly for my characters.
So far, anyway. I don't expect to be lucky enough to be 3 for 3.
Mmm I would say I am indifferent. I found Awakenings... boring
I liked Awakening but it was super buggy for me. I missed out on a couple of major companion quests because they wouldn't trigger for me, and I'm not sure my ending slides were correct for my choices. So... mixed feelings. The experience was sometimes fun but rather disjointed due to the technical issues.
You know... I'm basically Velanna-neutral. I find that in replaying DA:O and DA:A I pretty much makes the same choices over and over, and so I end up recruiting her last and never getting to know her past her 'I hate you' exterior. Same with Oghren, who I can never get to 100% approval because he's always last. I sorta feel like I never got to know the first games characters nearly as well as I know the DA2 ones.
I never really felt like I got to know Velanna because of the aforementioned quests-not-triggering issue, so I'm sort of neutral on her by default. I couldn't really tell you what makes her tick, so I have very little to like or dislike about her.
Oghren could be fun from time to time, but I found his awkward sexual comments creepy, and the alcoholism and being a deadbeat dad didn't endear him to me.
