I'm not one to judge the attractiveness of men, but how is Solas... unattractive precisely?

idk to me... he seems kind of sad, in that one screen shot or maybe that was his facial expression at that time when he was casting a spell,  another thing is the fact that his bald.. his a lil too clean-shaved for me I like a man with at least a lil bit of hair  granted thats not to say that all bald men are unattractive, but Solas in particular I dont think the boldness suit him, Other ppl might find him attractive and thats fine, as I said its just a matter of taste.

I think he's quite adorable,though I don't find him attractive either...For me it's mostly the fact that he's very skinny,and the outfit he wears accentuates his extremely lithe figure.But still as most people already stated attractiveness is subjective so...

I don't think so. Varric isn't bad looking. Solas and IB might not be considered conventionally attractive (and we didn't get a good Shot of his face so far), but we don't know if they're LI. There are at least two other male companions to show.
Plus, Loghain, Sten, Oghren, Nathaniel weren't conventionally attractive either. And Fenris was plently of dislike for his appearance.
I'd wait to see the full/near full cast before fearing the worst.

as for the rest of the male companions (assuming that Cullen isnt one) theres the GW witch he seems nice... but the devs said that he pretty old or that he has a grandpa personality or something like that, and then the mustache guy.. I guess he is the only decent looking person to me (minus the mustache ut I can deal with that)

Well so far  the females are the only characters who ARE attractive yes...  If Cullen were to be a companion he would be the only attractive guy lol or at least for us. But unfortunately I dont think he will be a companion tho...., grated ppl have different tastes but from what Ive read in the  main forums not alot of ppl are excited about the male choices

 

Considering the only male we've really SEEN (by this I mean officially released screenshots) is Varric (who looks insanely handsome imo) I wouldn't get too worried. They also wouldn't make unattractive romance options just to get rid of romances...they would just stop making romances. 

 

Solas has a very good looking face if you ask me, and I'm not going to be worried about his outfit as it's been stated that their armor/clothing changes throughout the game based on what you equip them with. Keeping an "iconic" look but still variation on what they're wearing.

 

Guess my point is, don't be too concerned this early on about if you're going to like all the romance options. Bioware hasn't let me down so far in the romance department, and if it really is such a huge issue for you there are always mods! (For PC players at least...sorry console players

Where did they state such things about the Warden? I must've missed.

I think it was on twitter or in the twitter thread a while ago when the Gi was released, I dont remember weather it was Mary or Dave who said it... I dont remember the exact words  but it was something about a grandfather or that GW was "inspired" by someones grandfather or something like that... R2 might know better

And as far as the mods go... wel considering that Frostbite is pretty damn hard to mod.. I dont foresee anything in that department...

Well I think Cassandra is still very beautiful, even if she is not 'traditionally attractive' or objectively good looking like I think Alistair, Morrigan and Vivienne are, (whether or not you yourself are attracted to them). Solas just isn't really. But we've yet to get a good look at him or the others, so who knows.

 

Wasn't there a blog about the creation of Cassandra from a Bioware characterdesigner? I think it's about the process of how Cassandra was developed?

Yeah I do love that episode, (Emma Caulfield once again totally steals the show with her speech on understanding mortality), and Hell's Bells, any episode with extended interaction between the Mayor and Faith, Glory episodes, Hush, (even if Riley's in it).

If there is something in the works, can I join? I've never played before, but it looks so great playing that! PM me if you want (before people are annoyed by me, derailing the thread).

I really don't want to get involved in this conversation, but...

 

The devs have warned that this time the characters are not conventionally attractive. Attractiveness is also subjective. And I personally have seen no characters, out of the very few we have proper, high-quality screenshots of, that are unattractive. They might not be to your personal aesthetic or sexual taste, but I can't say anyone has, to use a gross term, 'been beaten with an ugly stick'.

 

Vivienne, to me, is gorgeous. As is Cass and Varric. Sola seems to have a softer jawline than what I'm personally attracted to-- I like me some strong features, I suppose, but I wouldn't call him unattractive. We haven't really seen a proper screenshot of him, though. There were the shots from that magazine, but they weren't as high-quality as what Bioware has been giving us.

 

Iron Bull also has a very lovely, um... back? I mean the only facial shot we've seen of him is concept art, so I don't think that counts, either. 

 

To be honest, it sounds more like they're letting the characters and the personalities and the characters' histories 'choose' their appearances, and there's something I love about this as a designer. Sure, they might not be conventionally pretty. And sure, that might displease the fans, but by God I love when a character's design tells a story as much as their words. Let them be 'unpretty' if it gives me a visual story!

 

I'm in the minority concerning that, though. Which is fine, but I needed to have my gushy designer moment!
