And if Cole was a companion, he would most likely be a rogue, like his character in the book.
Yup. He'd fit the dual-wield rogue, since it seems Varric and Sera will both be presented as archers.

I think Cole will definitely be a companion, especially if IB is indeed a warrior.
I waffle between feeling positive about Cullen getting the ninth spot and thinking it'll go to Dorian or mustache dude ![]()
I admit, Cole would be fun to have. Although the gender ratio is still off.

I'm pretty convinced that Dorian is gone (didn't Gaider say that someone from the leak was given the boot, and if Cole is there, then it's either Cullen or Dorian, and Greg Ellis already recorded some voice acting, and we haven't seen hide nor hair of Dorian in any art), and that Ser Dramatic Flaily-Hands de Moustache is an NPC, akin to Scribe Girl.

Agreed. I'm thinking Cole with be the Day One DLC companion (because it's gonna be there) and that an unnamed female character will be taking a slot somewhere. Perhaps rogue? (I can't see them having two female warriors, as cool as that would be.)
To clarify, they never stated an Asunder character would be a companion. They stated that an Asunder companion will be in the game.
And honestly, Cole is the most likely to be in the party, since he was featured in the leak.
I'm rooting for "in the game but not companion" myself. I've got nothing against Cole. It's just that I never really warmed to any of the Asunder crew, and I don't an overwhelming desire to go adventuring with any of them. I wouldn't mind if any of them showed up or had a role in the game, but I'd rather save the companion slots for characters who spark my imagination more.
Mind you, that's just me. I realize that a lot of people liked Cole (or Adrian, or whoever) and would love to have them as companions. More power to them! All I'm saying is that my curiosity doesn't lie in that direction. I won't boycott the game if Cole (or Adrian, or whoever) is a companion. It's just that their inclusion would not influence my preorder decision.

Reeeeally?! Is that truly true? That's excellent news for Cullen if so!!!

I'm trying to find the original post where he supposedly says this, but it's not going well? I mean, a lot of people say Gaider said not everyone on the survey will be a companion (which means maybe more than one didn't make the cut) but I haven't yet found that original post.
Still, if someone got cut I'd put money on Dorian. We haven't seen a hint of him in any artwork. (Technically the same could be said of Cullen, but we at least have a likeness there, which we don't with Dorian.) Which is a shame, because I rather liked the idea of his character. Unless Dorian is Flaily Hands de Moustache. But, again, three mages is doubtful.
This is old, but reposting it anyway:
Solas, Cassandra (from the back) Dwarfquisitor, and teeny tiny Cullen in the background, waving. And possibly his Templars, going to a safehaven now known as Skyhold?
Dude how have I not noticed itty bitty Cullen before now??? Took me a good minute, like I was playing "where's Waldo?"
Awww, he's so cute and tiny, just wanna put him in my pocket!
SHE's HERE:

“Vivienne was a truly great character to build,” says senior artist Rion Swanson. “I was hooked from the very beginning when I saw the first concept.”
Swanson credits the work of BioWare’s concept artists as a key component to locking down Vivienne’s final design. In particular, he recalls a lot of back-and-forth to ensure that her character met the high-quality standards of the studio.
“In the end, I think we achieved quite a dramatic look for this strong new character,” Swanson says. “The combination of sleek and powerful shapes with the ornate gold and fine fabrics gives Vivienne a pretty unique appearance.”
With Vivienne’s work complete, what does Swanson think about setting her loose on the world of Thedas?
“Watching her move through the world with flowing fabric and using her awesome mage abilities is a real nice counterbalance to some of the other heavily armored characters in your party. Enjoy!”

Holy Hell you're fast
Omg that red makeup/mask one ![]()

Oh, does she have a shaved head? Kickass!
She looks gorgeous!!!!

She's..... BALD!?!?!?!
Bioware is waging war on hair guys!
Shes bald tooo? WTH BW?

Possibly, but he could also be the closest thing to a multi-class character we've seen yet. He's a rogue in the book, but he was brought to the Circle of Magi because he had magical ability. Maybe he has his own skill tree that includes both rogue and mage skills? Now that would be interesting! We've never met anyone like that.
Under the right conditions, almost any character has potential. In this case, I'm not sure they'd go there (at least not with a follower) because it would lead to players wanting multi-class protagonists, but it's a fun idea.

I f*cking LOVE the shaved head look on her, I hope she stays that way!
I guess that's why she wears hats...
I honestly thought she'd be bald/shaven.
Me, too. Hair would just get in the way of some of those hats, man!
Now I'm thinking back to that fanart with Solas, Iron Bull, and Vivienne, and wondering if the fourth character Gaider was talking about is hairless, too. ![]()
I love her golden outfits on the bottom row. So ornate!
It's..... it's....
BALDQUISITION
LOL... sure looks like it..... ![]()

I thought Lola said she had hair tho
Wow, I love Vivienne's shaved head, (though I think I'll keep her swanky Maleficent hats myself, hopefully we can choose no helmets per character).
But from another companion, if we are to have a third mage, (which I must say, I really doubt), there are a few archetypes and viewpoints that have been totally ignored in the games which I would much rather explore than a Libertarian, or other Circle mage for that matter, and general apostate, (which for now we must assume Solas to be). I would prefer to see a Rivaini hedge mage matriarch, or a Tevinter Magister who, while still definitely Tevinter, is not a raging psychopath blood mage, (which is why I like Maevaris), or even a Mortalitasi. Though I do think the first two may be better suited if we were to have a Qunari Invasion game in DA4.
I think I need to know more about Solas' background before I can try and stab at what the third mage would be.
