Man, sometimes I feel like the only one that thinks a shaved head or natural baldness, as a look, can be just as aesthetically pleasing as any kind of hair.

While I'm not so keen on Solas's baldness, I LOVE Vivienne's. I think maybe that's because you can still see where her hair is? It's very very short, but it's still there. Hopefully it will show like that in-game as well. With Solas, he's just got a total chrome dome. And I'm not feeling it. >_>

Bald Vivienne?! Did not expect, but I sure was hoping for that =D

To be honest, it sounds more like they're letting the characters and the personalities and the characters' histories 'choose' their appearances, and there's something I love about this as a designer. Sure, they might not be conventionally pretty. And sure, that might displease the fans, but by God I love when a character's design tells a story as much as their words. Let them be 'unpretty' if it gives me a visual story!

I agree with all that. I'd just like to point out that if the idea is not to create traditional beauty, but to create character, and female characters still end up fulfilling traditional beauty - then there is a problem. I'm not saying BioWare are guilty of this, I think Cassandra especially subverts things very nicely. Just wanted to point out that a change in approach does not necessarily mean similar results won't be met.

Clearly, people in this thread are of different opinions on just how different the results are. That's all =)
 
 

Hey people, sorry to go off topic, again, but weren't a couple of guys/gals talking about doing a DnD campaign, kind of like what AbilityDrain (correction, Boris) gamermd, scottish and ashe are doing?
 
If there is something in the works, can I join? I've never played before, but it looks so great playing that! PM me if you want (before people are annoyed by me, derailing the thread).

I'd absolutely love to play as well and would be willing to be a GM if desired. I've... quite a bit of time since I'm between jobs at the moment any way =) Being from Sweden though, I'm in a different time zone than most.

I'm sure the idea is that she pretty much doesn't go outside without a hat on. She changes which hat she's wearing, but she's never seen without one. And hair? That's just something that risks misaligning her fabulous hats, and sometimes strands could escape from underneath her hats and destroy that symmetrical perfection! Clearly, hair is only in the way of Vivienne's fashion choices =)

I guess from what the blog stated that companions will be locked in their class armours/robes. Though I'm honestly worried that companions won't have access to every armour/robes the Inquisitor can use too.
