Game master, yeah, a k a DM/Dungeon master in D&D =) And sure, I'd love to make up an adventure or five! We'd have to gather round and create characters and stuff, as well as discuss what kind of story we want to play.

Personally I would have no problems using a grandparent for inspiration for a character. My grandfather, for example, was a very proud man, a very stubborn man, too. His family was very important to him, and yet he was quite aloof. During a long conversation he'd maybe only utter one or two sentences. He was a very typical "old school" Cajun to be honest. Take all those traits and you could make a very interesting character, and definitely a sexy one, too!

My nana, (AKA the best person in whole entire world, so come at Zombie Mother Theresa!), is just the nicest person imaginable. Not a bad bone in her body, apart from the ones she always breaks, she's hilarious, she models every now and then and she's dozier than a sleepy kitty. And one of step granddads he seems like he was very like your grandfather. He was German, but when he came to England, he apparently never spoke German again and learned English very quickly.

Yeah that's something that's occurred to me; French was my grandpa's first language, so maybe part of his aloofness had to do with not being a great English-speaker, or at least feeling more comfortable speaking in French than English.

I'm trying to find the original post where he supposedly says this, but it's not going well? I mean, a lot of people say Gaider said not everyone on the survey will be a companion (which means maybe more than one didn't make the cut) but I haven't yet found that original post.

 

Still, if someone got cut I'd put money on Dorian. We haven't seen a hint of him in any artwork. (Technically the same could be said of Cullen, but we at least have a likeness there, which we don't with Dorian.) Which is a shame, because I rather liked the idea of his character. Unless Dorian is Flaily Hands de Moustache. But, again, three mages is doubtful.

Fans say, because of this survey. He  basically says. 'Oh. Well, don't believe everything you read.' So all he said was not 10.

Weird. The symbol on his chest in teb Gamestar pic is identical to his necklace in your pic, but it didn't seem a necklace in the former (it seems sawn in his clothes).

 

 

I can see some string or whatever holding the boot symbol in his camp, fire attack, looooook at me! picture. But the quality is still pretty bad.

It looked to me like an amulet or whatever around his neck before we saw this. I think the string is just underneath his LLBean vest.

Unless there's a second character written that was based on someone's grandpa. I think I recall some speculation from other fans about it being beardy GW, but I believe those folks are, um, uninformed of the string of circumstantial evidence we (i.e. Lola) had collected pointing to Cullen. Nevertheless, it was never confirmed one way or another. I have to link to the whole convo at home and you can decide for yourself. (edit: or see my next post below)

Well, then I would say don't trust everything you read in that source. It's incorrect.

Either way, if we thought the cost of an individual companion made having X number of companions too expensive then we would have less companions. If we thought that having more visual customization of companions was a feature worth spending some money on, and which would get us some bang for our dollars, then we would spend it.

Oh, nothing definite.  He was just bouncing around the Romances and different companion threads causing chaos.

So many interesting suppositions.  I feel like I have too much power knowing those who will be happy, and those who will feed writer tears (lol who am I kidding... I'm sure tears will be made by all... just for different reasons! )

 

Then in the Solas thread, after several pages of "Solas for LI" squeeing (by me and a few others), he popped in with

Oh I'm so happy you posted that, because the moment I saw shortbread on the list I thought of Cullen.  When I read the history of shortbread (I stay up late to do important things like this!) the origin of shortbread stuck out to me.  Shortbread "started life as ‘biscuit bread’; biscuits that were made from left-over bread dough that was sometimes sweetened and dried out in the oven to form a hard, dry rusk."  Well, Cullen is made from the "dough" that remains after the Uldred and Kirkwall incidents, and maybe he's a hardened (but still sweet) version of what he was before the Broken Circle.  Now I want to eat some shortbread.

 

Edit: Then again, the crumbly deliciousness of the more modern shortbread could relate to Cullen's life crumbling after Uldred and Kirkwall.  Yum.
