I've already lived this kind of disappointment (JOKER GOD WHY) so I'm very prepared for that emotional punch should it not happen.
I'm really glad I came to the game late; if I'd played ME 1&2 first I know I would've been hoping against hope he would be a LI by game 3!
I did try the flirt with him and it was... awkward.

Ahhhhhh I just saw Steve Valentine's tweet, that makes me so happy! Even if he's not voicing Alistair (although c'mon...like they think we wouldn't recognize that voice coming out of some other NPC) I'm still super happy that he'll be in Inquisition!

On GE having to delete his tweet, I doubt it says as much about the individual character as the fact that absolutely no facts whatsoever had been revealed about the game at that point. The game itself hadn't officially been announced. It was way too cart before the horse. Keep in mind that was september 2012.

I agree, thought I doubt they'd start working on VA for some minor character.
But also at the time, everyone thought the game was coming out a year later, fall 2013. For all we know whatever they intended with Cullen at the time was totally changed when the timing changed. I just think it's comparing apples and oranges, myself.
Do you guys remember when Cam tweeted that he had an envelope about companions VO lines and such? That wasnt that long ago.. so they might have changed some characters since GE did the VO tho, but even if Cullen was or is just an Npc, why not let ppl know? It wont hurt anyone...

Because that would be revealing what it was changed to . something or nothing. It doesn't make sense to talk about what could have been til they're ready to talk about what is.
I mean heck they let everyone know about Morrigan being a major Npc why not let ppl know about Cullen if his just and npc? or a major one

Staying at "not companion" means it'll all be a pleasant surprise if it's more.
