weeelll, you know what I think about that.   Staying at "not companion" means it'll all be a pleasant surprise if it's more.

But also at the time, everyone thought the game was coming out a year later, fall 2013. For all we know whatever they intended with Cullen at the time was totally changed when the timing changed. I just think it's comparing apples and oranges, myself.

Well yes, it's possible that they might've changed his role. We know that Gaider rewrite a companion and two plots.

There's just too many variables to possible fathom what they were doing with GE & Cullen that early on. Cameo because it was so sort. Companion because most VAs doing it in several chunks. Just VO for the trailer and more later. I think I've heard every possible theory... but no convergence. Only time will tell.

Are the characters in the cover in-game? Because they seem different , and the Inquisitor's helmet missed those dented things at the top.
So I guess the article is a joke? Or were they trying to be funny?

No they probably just manipulated/photoshopped the images they had of them for the magazine. Give them a smoother feel, although I don't know why they look absolutely stunning already. That's magazines for you.

That's kinda what I dislike once we get new info, you get the same stuff in 500 different article rehashed over and over until there is new info again.

The worst part is that we won't necessarily know if he's a companion or not until playing the game, since some companions are kept in secret.
I actually have theory why Cullen might be kept secret if he's a companion.

That's kinda what I dislike once we get new info, you get the same stuff in 500 different article rehashed over and over until there is new info again. 

And fans digging for the new nuggets... only find out that the only things that seem "new" are just "wrong." Like... HEY did you hear that Vivienne has  lisp??? Yeah, it was the Xbox One mag that broke that one.

What is your theory if I may ask?

If he's a secret companion, he might start as a Red Templar.
It's not something I'd like, but it's a possibility in the case he's a companion, but kept not announced before release. I'd say that the companions that will not be revealed have plot reasons for being hidden.

Well if its Solas Im kind of curious to see him in a more high rez pic, maybe he doesnt  look  as strange as I though... Im hoping so anyway...

So daggers are still equipped in the back and not at the side. Disappointed .
I really love Cassandra's shield. When I'll roll my S&S warrior I'll definitely use it. And Cassandra's armours seems a light one. Nice.
