I hope all the LI's are player sexual. goddammit. i'm greedy. i want a buffet of LI options. as my mood and pt change.
 
i wonder who made David squee? one of his characters.

I don't really care of the approach chosen, though if they increased the number of LI it'll be almost sure they won't be playersexual/bisexual.  

How can we guess at such things though? I mean how can you tell if a character is gay, bi, or straight without the writers actually saying so. 
 
Well I mean we'd know Cass isn't gay because she had that thing with the male mage in her anime (so I hear), so there's that.

Well, it was just an opinion. Cassandra can't be exclusively lesbian, and Inthink it's more likely that Sera will be be due to giving a different race option as LI to everyone.

No, seriously... I kind of want some in-depth NPC romances. I'm becoming enamored of the idea of romancing Cullen as an NPC. I don't really like him having to answer to my inquisitor, anyway. (I kind of hate being the special snowflake leader of a group in an RPG.)

Well, they've had a hell of a lot more time to develop this game, so it's highly possible they might be doing 2 NPC romances and 4 companion romances, which would be pretty cool. A possible way to throw in a Cullen romance, without him being a companion.

For some reason I believe that if they went the "non-playersexual" 6 LI route,Vivienne would be the homosexual option Cassandra the straight one and Sera the Bisexual...But I believe it's more likely that they'll stick with the playersexual option.

About Steve Valentine. Is it just me...but I remember pretty clearly early on that Alistair was not making an appearance. So if they said no to that, and here he is, omg I'm even more hopeful for Cullen.

Steve just stated that he wasn't contacted yet. Bioware never stated Alistair won't be back in DAI.

I'm pretty sure he'd be his own man either way  ...Besides he has more opportunities to express his views or disagree with the inquisitor etc if he's a companion...Though a npc romance would be better than nothing I guess,so why not.

Yes, it can be indeed tricky to have expectations from a game still in development,although I'm slightly optimistic about him having a bigger role in the game if he's not a companion...

I've done a couple of Cullen themed digital paintings(one includes my Inquisitor and an orlesian ball)...Though they're far from prefect ,because I'm still an amateur in digital art, but I guess they'll do...

Does anyone else think that Cullen was attracted to Meredith? At least, at the beginning when he was all RAWR MAGES BAD. It's my headcanon that Cullen is attracted to powerful women (and maybe men?). I have nothing to back me up besides just my own thoughts, though. 

 

Actually, my headcanon is the complete opposite - that Cullen was instinctively vaguely repulsed by Meredith but he talked himself out of it because she seemed to be in agreement with him on most things and she was giving him opportunities to further his career, so he had no logical reason to dislike her.

 

I have no actual evidence for this, it's just based on imagination and the fact that I think it would give Cullen back some confidence in trusting his gut to realize his instinct was right.

 

I actually do think Cullen would be attracted to powerful women/men(?) in general, just not to Meredith, because I think he also values kindness and fairness (as he sees it at the time, which was sometimes through a very warped filter) and Meredith didn't have those qualities.

Me too. I'd rather be able to pick based on a compatible personality rather than having my choices limited by orientation. I realize that's unrealistic, but in the real world there are more than four people I could potentially fall in love with, so I'll accept the break from reality in this case to give the player more options.

 

When there are only a handful of choices to start with (which is fine,) gender seems like one of the least important characteristics to start sorting people by.

Anders is dead in my playthrough too, but at this point there are so many characters who could potentially be dead that it's pretty much inevitable that certain NPCs will be in the game but will not be there for some people. 

 

I'm happy with characters like Anders reappearing for people who let him live! I just hope he stays dead for my characters, because his death was an important character-development moment for my Hawke and I don't want her let off the hook for the consequences of her choices by the game deciding it just didn't happen.

I've been touching a short story in a forest setting from time to time. Never gotten around to finishing it, though. Perhaps I should finish my, uh, forest setting story for 4000.

My original Cullen 3000 story was set in the forest I scrapped it though after hearing the inquisitor's voice. It just didn't work for a young inquisitor (This was before we learned we would have two voices). So now the inquisitor in my current story is about Cullen's age.

 

And so yeah, I'm down for a forest setting!!
