Okay, so, there's been some rumbling about Cullen being an NPC instead of a companion (I waffle on this about three times a minute). How would you guys feel if Cullen became a NPC on par with, say, Joker of the Mass Effect series?

To answer my own question, I'm actually quite okay with this idea. He's important, he's in power, we get to hang out with him and maybe become his friend. (If NPC romances are implemented, then I am double-okay with it.)  :D I have no idea why I think Cullen would make for a great NPC. Perhaps it's because that's how I've known him for the whole series? Maybe I'm self-deluding myself into thinking that's FINE REALLY TOTALLY FINE I'D BE OKAY IF HE WASN'T A COMPANION NO REALLY IT'S FINE. I think he'd do well in a position of power, instead of lumbering after the Inquisitor all the time. IDK.

Jar of Bees = Calling upon the Bees = Wild companions = Ranger skill? :P

You didn't want any city?

Indeed, as that fact made it seem markedly less likely that we'd have to worry about the Orlesian civil war.

LOL You're adorable! Should be fun. I'm looking forward as well.

Adorable, or sadistic? Watching as the devs drain the last glimmer of Cullen shaped hope out of us. Well they'll never have my delicious, delicious hope. Not until confirmation either way!

As a side note; we all know Cullen is way more badass than Joker!

I am now going to make a rogue dwarf character who's only viable skill it hurling jars of bees.

Reminds me of Dragon's Dogma, where your pawns can pick up rocks and skulls and throw them at enemies

I'd be fine with that. I'm just interested in a good story. Plus he's always been an NPC, so not much would change here. /shrug

And further on the bees topic, I won't lie, when someone pointed out that Solas looked like Nic Cage from a certain angle in a screenshot, I could completely see it. I'm totally going to let him handle the bees.

I wonder if I could appoint an Official Inquisition Beekeeper? Hmm..

Okay so NOW I can like it. Good.

Urgh, how long does it take now to reset??  I'm out again. (I wish I could just shoot to the side of the monitor and hear the comforting, "RELOAD!")

She just doesn't think the Dalish are helping the elves in the best possible way they could is all. She would side with them if she thought they were though. Or if it was the Dalish or the shemlen.

The phrasing confuses me. I don't think America is helping the rest of the world or its citizens in the best way it can, but by no means am I anti-American.

Ehhhhnn... maybe this is the wrong thread to say it in, but I would contest that. As it is the Cullen discussion thread.

I'd be okay with it, as long as he has some purpose, you know like the leader of a group of Templars. But I want to be able to have a conversation with him, Jokers convos were not really satisfying to me in either part of ME to be honest.

The only thing I know about Joker is that he's Seth Green. So, I can see Cullen being more badass (than anyone, coughcough), but might have a run for his money in laconic.

A note regarding bee-based weaponry that I'll make here so that we draw to Page 4,000 sooner: before anyone complains about "teh realism" regarding the jar of bees, I just wanna note that humans have been using bees as weapons ever since we learned to make fire by hitting each other with rocks. (Or something.) Hurling beehives into fortresses has been around since the days of the Romans. The Mayans reportedly had special "bee grenades" - clay pots filled with angry bees - that they could throw at their enemies. King Richard catapulted beehives into the ranks of the Saracens during the Third Crusade.

I really doubt we won't be involved in it.

To clarify on the Joker thing: Joker actively defied his superiors when they were pursuing a badly wrong action, helping Shepard steal the Normandy and fly it Ilos. Then he quit the Alliance altogether when they were dicking around too much to be effective... then quit Cerberus when they proved themselves to be evil. Joker may bounce around, but he has a firm moral compass and is perfectly willing to defy orders and expectations in order to do what's right, something Cullen has failed to demonstrate consistently.

Xil, not the place, although I do agree that Joker is a very good character.

Well, it's the Cullen "Discussion" thread, not simply a fan thread. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have come here at all.
