First things first: the prequel to this fic is Seeking. (LINK IS TO THE LIVEJOURNAL KINKMEME MEANING NSFW although my fic is fluffy as bunnies and not even a little porny.) While it sets up the relationship and helps define my Inquisitor, it's really not necessary. Also it is full of stuttery Cullen. It should be noted that Ashtal is Tal-Vashoth, and the Warden for this verse is a Dalish rogue. It sort-of matters.

The Inquisitor receives some unexpected insight about the most taciturn member of her new team. Set during DA: Inquisition, so it includes speculation and some minor spoilers. 
 
A little drabble inspired by the unused sound files from DA:O when Cullen might have been a temporary companion. In particular, his laugh and his "bored" comment. If you haven't heard them, you can hear most of them here.

The Surely Templar

 

Because surely this templar will be around to share a drink with our Inquisitors!

 

 

Like our favourite Knight-Captain, the Surely Templar combines the earthy righteousness of Scotch with a strong undercurrent of bittersweetness.

 

1 oz single malt Scotch

0.5 oz passionfruit syrup

juice of 1/2 lemon

4-6 dashes orange bitters

 

stir and pour over ice

 

add tonic water to taste and garnish with an orange slice and dried ramen noodles

 

 

 

 

*and it's 'surely' not 'surly'!

So, better late than never, my page 4000 submission. Late because my original story didn't gel and I ended up doing something completely different.

He had made his choice. He made it when he raised his sword against his leader… no, before that. When he spoke against the deaths of the mages who surrendered, spoke of the duties of a templar, Cullen had known in that moment that his lot was cast.  
 
Treason.  
 
No illusions that he was choosing anything but death.
 
He prayed to the Maker. Not for impossible deliverance, but for peace, acceptance, submission.  
 
Cullen didn’t know when his death would come, but it was as inevitable as the stone walls around him. Would he be relieved, with the unbearable wait finally over? Or would he try desperately to drink in every sight and sound on his last walk to face the noose?
 
Footsteps in the corridor. Cullen’s  head, resting on his prayer-clasped hands, snapped up. Wary as a templar, always.
 
The cell door opened…

YAY HAPPY  PAGE 4000

 

Ok so since  the main image I wanted to do for this challange was going to be based off of R2s
fanfic- RED (thats what the room i was trying to make was for) I have failed to finish it
due to my vegas vacation for a week and then when I came home I did a lot of fuking off so instead
this is my  "backup plan" pic I did a while back,  I will still post R2's fanfic pic when its done tho
even if its not for page 4k (sorry r2)

Wooot! And i make it to page 4001. lol! Close enough. Shoot. I have to go back and enjoy all the offerings, but I wanted to post this up  before it got to be page 4010...yaknowwhatimsayin.
 
Well, my humble offering to enjoy over delicious fanfic and awesome vids. It's a drink recipe I came across a few years ago when I had this holiday party and I made a vat of it! (so much work). But for smaller settings over the holidays--purrfect.

"I’d like to introduce the Spiced Apple Cider Sangria. Simple, flavorful, and full of everything thing that screams Fall. The sweet apple cider is perfectly spiced with the flavors of Autumn. When coupled with the warmth of the brandy and the earthy, dry flavor of the wine, this drink makes you want to bundle up and sit around the fireplace with this drink."
 
Spiced Apple Cider Sangria
Yield: 6 1/2 cups

Apple Cider Sangria filled with hints of orange, cinnamon, and clove... Perfect for Fall! Doubling this recipe is highly recommended!

Ingredients:

For the Spiced Apple Cider:
2 cups apple cider (the real stuff - opaque in color & found in the refrigerator section)
1/3 cup sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/4-1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon orange zest
2 orange slices (rounds)
For the Spiced Apple Cider Sangria:
1 bottle inexpensive Spanish red wine (we used Tempranillo)
2 cups spiced apple cider (recipe above)
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup brandy

Directions:

For the Spiced Apple Cider:
Mix together all ingredients in a medium sized saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat and then remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Strain before using.
For the Spiced Apple Cider Sangria:
Mix ingredients together in a large pitcher and garnish with orange wheels and cinnamon sticks. To serve, pour over ice.

This is far from finished and not what I had intended as the final work. I was attempting to recreate Cullen's DA2 look for Origins and then, using the new morph, take some screens from CME's Cullen mod. Oh well, maybe when I can get the game functioning again I can post the finished product. But here's my start on Cullen:

3+ parts hot black tea with cinnamon (I used the Adagio Teas "Antivan Leather", which is amazing all by itself, but I'm sure it would be good with just plain black tea and a cinnamon stick too)
