Aw man, there was so much excitement yesterday with Greg Ellis tweeting us back, the possibility of some sort of DA3 announcement/news at Gamescom and then that possible DA3 leak. But now there's nothing materialised.

DG hasnt answered me yet but I've asked some people about the toothbrushes and they said people would take mint leaves, put them on their fingers and rub it across their teeth.

So Cullen would have nice minty breath.

brushyourteeth finds this insufficient. It may make your breath minty, but it would do nothing to remove plaque or prevent gingivitis.

The more I think about it, the more I hope that "leak" is a fake. It's not the main premise of the story that bothers me, because that's pretty much what everyone has predicted for DA3 anyway (although I still want the veil to tear open lol). It's just those 4 companions that bug me the most. 

Maybe it's because we've been speculating about possible companions so much that I thought we'd end up with characters like Cassandra, Gaylan from DotS, Tallis (just because DG loves her), that random Grey Warden dude from the concept armor etc, and then if we were really lucky then we'd get Cullen and a bunch of newbies. I don't mind the sound of that drunken Qunari guy "Iron Bull" and Cole, but the other two don't interest me at all. Sure that leaves us with 3 or 4 spaces left, but what with Greg Ellis' tweet about a "session" rather than "sessions" I feel like that pretty much eliminates Cullen from the ranks... I know even bit parts and minor NPC's generally take more than one session to record, so i can only presume that he'll be doing just a short Cullen cameo or something sh!te like that.

I'm not even gonna lie, I'm gonna be really bloody annoyed if he isn't a companion/LI. Regardless of if that leaked story is true or not the Mage/Templar thing is still important, especially if this "magical blast that decimates Chantry leadership" mentioned in the leak is anything to go by then Cullen should be an obvious choice. I'm getting really fed up of him being dangled in our faces like that. I mean, why even bother to develop his character and backstory to the extent they have if they aren't going to use him as companion/LI material.

I wouldn't mind a magister... I think it was more the descriptions of the Magister and Elf that put me off a bit.

Cullen being a companion would be... I think unprecedented, actually; he'd certainly be the companion who'd been yanked around the most for two games straight prior. How well would this work with the obvious desire to let new players get into the game well?

Come to think of it, hasn't Cullen already had a rather large character arc? How well would he do as a companion in that area, if starting at all fresh?

I've just noticed something from that leak. It says "Orlais is the most power empire in Dragon Age", "The once unified faith of the Dragon Age world" and "the world of Dragon Age is one on the brink of collapse". Shouldn't that be "Thedas" not "the Dragon Age world" - strikes me as very amateurish if you ask me.

Lol you should have seen me with the ME3 endings, I was so upset and angry about it lol! I think that's another reason why I want DA3 to live up to standard because I'm pinning all my hopes on that game redeeming the bad name Bioware have got currently, adding Cullen as a companion/LI would really help swing things a little more in their favour for me.

Lol I wouldn't know what word would suitably describe it. The plot itself is pretty much what we'll get anyway, so if it is fake then it was easy enough to come up with something plausible after David Gaider 'n' co said that the world would be at war with itself. But there's just something about that leak that leaves me feeling really uneasy and I can't put my finger on what it is.

thats the same way I felt when I read it, granted I didnt read the part about the companions. The storyline on the 'leak', as you said, is what we'll pretty much get. I could have made something like that with that same plotline.

Lol yeah it made sense. The "leak" certainly seems like the most obvious plot they'd go for, although I am curious about that magical blast that decimates the Chantry leadership lol.

Also because we'd all been coming up with ideas and concepts about things that could happen in DA3, I feel kinda disappointed that the majority of it won't happen. I think the fact that I had built this idea up in my head about all the possible scenarios and storylines that could happen in the game hasn't helped, it's left me feeling kinda disappointed now that I know what will actually happen (if the leak is indeed real.)

I always imagined the mage/templar conflict not being the actual plot, like it was covering up for something bigger and much worse. I'll be disappointed if that isnt so, it's interesting and all but DA2 sort of knocked it over my head so much that I dont want to go through the whole thing. I got sick of killing templars and mages ALL THE TIME.<_<

That's what I was hoping too. My theory was that the real threat was being over looked due to all the fighting and then all of a sudden sh!t hit the fan and the veil ripped completely open or Corypheus had done something to bring all the ancient magister back... Y'know, something dramatic and interesting like that lol.

This may be an odd question but who is this Corypheus and all? I've heard about him\\her\\it but never knew what it was about...aha. Other than me not knowing what Corypheus is, that sounds way more interesting than the land being in complete war with itself. Argh, now I'm worried the game wont be what I expect and that I'll completly dislike it. Boohoo

In Dragon Age 2, one of the DLC was called "Legacy", the end boss is an ancient Tervinter Magister named Corypheus who you have to fight, but as you strike the killing blow you see either one of the Grey Warden characters that aids you seemingly become possessed by Corypheus, but Hawke 'n' co don't realise and let the newly possessed Grey Warden return back to base. So a lot of people are hoping that we'll find out what happened regarding him. There's also a popular theory that he is responsible for your Hawke and Warden disappearing, since it was Hawke's blood that was needed during Legacy to "free" Corypheus in the first place, and obviously because Corypheus returned to the Grey Wardens in his new Grey Warden body, that would also directly cause our Warden to be involved too.

Oh, that is very interesting! My thanks, this explained a bit more and left things for me to contemplate.

That sounds like a good plot, Corypheus bringing the magisters down on Thedas while everyone is distracted by the war. I wonder if the Qunari wouldnt take the chance to get involved too, as they always seem to bring up how they will take Thedas.
