Did Steve Valentine get crap for posting about Alistair the other day? I wouldn't be surprised if Greg Ellis never speaks the name Cullen until after game release after that last bit. lol

I wonder if/when Greg Ellis will actually confirm officially that he's in the game as Cullen? I mean, I know he already did, but he got told off for it.
I can't see that being "OK" until Cullen is confirmed. i.e. Fall 2014.
[[edit: IIRC, we tried to be sneaky after "a certain fan favorite Knight-Captain" was mentioned in Game Informer. No joy.]]

Naw, they encouraged it and posted about it themselves, too. Makes me wonder if he really is an important character since none of the VO's for the companions have tweeted about being in the booth at BioWare or anything. Whereas the little cameos do.

@Adela... Cullen dies at the very beginning of the game via a choice we, as Inquisitor, have to make.... Save the babies from the burning orphanage or save Cullen from the blood mage who set the fire. If you choose to save Cullen he will hate you for the entire game.
LOL your screen name does you justice... also

Laaaaate, but technically Varric's theme was sort of the end credit song. Which makes his the best of all. At least in my opinion, but I love Florence and the Machine. ![]()

Which comics she's in? I only have a general knowledge of what happens in them.I think one exception to that rule is the Queen of Dragons from the comics.

am I the only one who is getting a little tired of seeing Cassandra, Vivienne, & Varic? I mean I like them and look forward to seeing them in game, but I don't want to be sick of them by release day. Which might happen.
I wish they would hurry up and spread the companion info around a little more.

In the two recent magazine they shown Solas instead of Vivienne. So I think it's possible that the next time they'll show a demo (E3) there'll be new companions.am I the only one who is getting a little tired of seeing Cassandra, Vivienne, & Varic? I can certainly understand why some people would be tired of seeing them, especially if they're not on the 'I'm curious as hell about these characters' list. I personally don't really mind, but that might be because I'm pretty laidback with it. Excited and hungry for more, but cool with whatever the marketing has planned. Maybe because I'm used to working in an industry that involves marketing, so I learned quite a bit about that. ![]()
On the up side, it's probably Solas' turn coming up! Or maybe Iron Bull. I'm guessing Solas and then Iron Bull.

Yeah, I try not to be ungrateful for the info that's coming out - and I know more is on the way! - but I'm feel like I'm getting overloaded on the threesome (ooh-la-la!) without actually getting any new tidbits? Does that make sense?
I would be ok, I think!, if companion info stopped and we got more Inquisitor & inquisition info.Things like armour sets, weapons, factions. maps. Something different - like the jar of bees! That was possibly my fave bit of news so far because it was so unexpected and is so bizarre.

I was tired of Varric the day they announced him as a returning companion
But to be honest, I'm coming back around to Cass and Vivienne. I actually might have them in my party from time to time (especially Vivienne, since I'm so disappointed by Solas' look).
I kind of like the idea of my inquisitor forming these unusual friendships with people he woudn't normally give the time of day to: a couple of proud female shems, blech! But then he ends up caring deeply for both of them ![]()

I think it's interesting he doesn't mention Cullen in there, for what ever reason. And I was surprised to hear Leliana was the most popular LI. But I suppose it makes sense. Majority straight male players, most probably think Morrigan's a total ****** or struggled to gain approval with her, combined with the gay women and role-players, (not that the other groups don't RP, just playing something that they're not).

A lot of guys probably played a female Warden, too, so they could get some girl-on-girl action. I have nothing against Leliana AT ALL (I've actually come around to liking her when once I didn't!), but it's surprising to me because the game sort of pushes Morrigan as the standard LI, plus her fans (and the OGB fans) are so, so, so loud. Which kind of proves DG's point!

Yesssssssssss. So much this!
I can't wait to watch and play through these relationships that form, especially any unlikely ones! ALL the unlikely ones! I still need to really consider who my first character will be, as that will be the playthrough where everything is brand new and I'm spending most of my time staring at the screen in childish wonder. ![]()
I DID plan for my human mage to be my first playthrough so I can see exactly how being a mage might change the game, and a mage still might be might first playthrough, but now my fem!qunari and male human rogue keep tuggin' at me and demanding my attention too. I'm so torn and completely uncertain!

This is the reason I was surprised to hear that too. I mean, sure, it makes a bit of sense when I look back on it, but Morrigan was definitely pushed as the main female LI, and her fans are so loud... couple that with how you can possibly miss Leliana all together, and well...

Vivienne will definitely be my main mage. I have no idea if my Anyaquisitor will get along with her yet though. Depends on how Vivienne appreciates her bluntness. Vivienne's more passive aggressive, so maybe she won't. Or maybe she will. I think she'll like her pro-Celene standpoint. Just because I think she'll be better for elves.
But I have to say, I think I'll be more excited for her Sera relationship, (and failing any good male LIs, the romance), because she's more like her. And I've been waiting for two elven besties to take on Thedas together since Origins.

idk why but this quote from DG kinda gives me hope
"If we bring a character forward or make a character into a love interest who has such a fanbase, and who have made requests, they’re completely free to proclaim victory if they wish."
I also got the feeling that who ever post that question was sort of referring to Cullen without actually naming him, as I do think the same thing about DG's post, since recently Cullen has been kind of a "hot" topic lately... but not in a good way unfortunately

Might be me, but I feel like the "There has to first be a reason to have that character present, and them having fans is a nice added bonus…but personally I’d be just as happy if the character had no fans, or was even considered unpopular. It’s a chance to develop the character further." could be about Cullen.

Besides Bann Teagan, what other non-party characters have big fan followings? I'm never sure how much of my tendency to read all these things as "code for Cullen" is not venturing into the BSN outside this thread and lurking DAI Scuttlebutt.

well honestly I think most of our ex companions have fans even a couple of Npc's like Teagan or Dagna and Cullen and such, so its a lil hard to think of who is he actually talking about or if he is generalizing.. altho I like to think his talking about Cullen ![]()
edit to add to the list of other npcs Anora.. I guess I could put in Valena as well, I heard some ppl like Isolde too.. so really there are not that many characters in the DA univers that ppl dont like at all.. npcs and companions alike... well I guess if you count the bad guys like Alrik or Meridith and such but Im sure even those guys have fans
