Besides Bann Teagan, what other non-party characters have big fan followings? I'm never sure how much of my tendency to read all these things as "code for Cullen" is not venturing into the BSN outside this thread and lurking DAI Scuttlebutt.

Like aside from the big ones like Morrigan and Alistair? And those who are still alive. I think there's Sigrun. Shianni's kinda big too. That's as much as I know.

I'm going to get my realism hat on for just a second and say he was probably generalising there. I love Cullen, the possibilities within his story, what we've seen of his character so far and such, but I don't think everything is a maybe possibly hint. Would be nice if it was, though.

I'd rather this one not be about him, to be honest. The asker reads to me as "I would like a pat on the head for my favorite character's vocal fan community" and DG reads to me as "We're glad you guys like them but for the millionth time we're doing whatever we're doing because we think it's good for the story, asking will get you nowhere"

well honestly I think most of our ex companions have fans even a couple of Npc's like Teagan or Dagna and Cullen and such, so its a lil hard to think of who is he actually talking about or if he is generalizing.. altho I like to think his talking about Cullen :P

edit to add to the list of other npcs Anora.. I guess I could put in Valena as well, I heard some ppl like Isolde too.. so really there are not that many characters in the DA univers that ppl dont like at all.. npcs and companions alike... well I guess if you count the bad guys like Alrik or Meridith and such but Im sure even those guys have fans

Huge Meredith fan right here.  :wizard:

I mean, sure, she was cray cray and paranoid as all hell at the end and allowed some horrible things to happen, but I don't need to agree with a character to find them excellent and compelling, And even though she was the top rank Templar there, it didn't mean she was all knowing. Bad crap slips under the radar all the time in military organisations and the like.

Loghain was a wonderfully compelling villain as well. As was Howe, even if he was an atrocious doucheface.

There were things I liked about Orsino too, actually.

Yea I kind of liked Meridith too for some reason, Im kind of sad that we didnt had more options to reason with her tho, It didn't necessarily had to come to "the last man standing" thing Loghain I liked him alot in the stolen throne book but in origins he made me mad lol causer once again he couldnt see reason, as for Orsino... idk Im kind of neutral about him

Yeah I like Meredith. If only because she's a badarse middle aged lady who don't take no **** from nobody.

And Howe, I like Howe because he's Frank N Furter.

As much as I love me some compromise, I understand why Meredith and Loghain both couldn't be reasoned with. Loghain has very deep wounds towards Orlais, and he felt that the prince was selling out the country he loved to them.

Meredith had a little problem with red lyrium and an idol.

Orsino's randomly abomination needed more build up. That's my only pet peeve. Especially when I was freakin' winning that fight.

I think what they should have done, was have it a scripted lose in some way. Just so you actually felt the pressure Orsino claimed they were all under. Instead of leaving Hawke standing there all "Orsino, pls. I was kicking arse and no one was dying."

Rendon Howe.. how I loathe him. But I'm sold on him. Because I -loveeeeeeee- Tim Curry.

Tim Curry might have had something to do with how much I... appreciate his character.

Seriously, though. Howe was a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE man, but, as a character, he was far more than one note. He definitely had reasons (not good ones mind, but still reasons) behind what he did. I just wished we'd learnt a little more about it from the man himself rather than piecing it together through reading about the Howe and Cousland histories.

I know, I'm really quite turned on right now.

If they ever do a Once More With Feeling-esque, Musical DLC, they have to get Tim Curry to play the demon behind it all!

Random thought: If Cullen were making a small appearance a la Alistair, they'd have happily advertised it the way they did Alistair's VA being in the studio on Twitter. But Mr. Ellis evidently has a gag rule slapped onto him... and it makes one wonder why.
