The thing with Cass is that I don't believe she was a Templar before she became a Seeker. So, I think she resembles more of a pro-Chantry perspective than a Pro-Templar, and there is a whole world of nuance and difference between those viewpoints.

Have they ever said what she was before a Seeker? I do own DotS, but I remember next to nothing about it beyond her and Gaylan blatantly having a thing for each other.

Tomorrow is April Fool's day. Do you think anything will happen?

I'm scared for tomorrow. We'd best be prepared for some teasing tomorrow.

No, it makes it look like she jumped straight into the Seekers.

or ominous silence.

Maybe she just showed exceptional skills, what with being from a long line of Dragon hunters or something?

I agree, abt Cullen. Heck, he's seen more of the ups and downs than Cass, I'd wager.

I feel like the Templars are kinda grunts, tho, compared to the Seekers. The Seekers are on a whole 'nother level. And prolly don;t have to do stupid stuff like drink lyrium.

And the Seekers know all the secrets, or at least alot more than most Templars.

We have not had a specific Templar perspective yet, even with Alistair cuz he was more to serve the Grey Warden backstory.

It would be funny to me if Cullen and Cass clashed on some issues, tbh.

And you said it better and more succinctly than I. (I get wordy)

Perhaps. Idk, it's just that she's never shown any ability to counter magic as of yet.

Well, putting my Feelingins aside--no, really--and speaking from straight logic and what I perceive to common sense: I would be totally surprised if they did not include a Templar perspective in DAI. Especially! with the Red Templars running amok and apparently razing the land. There would need to be a counterbalance.

They try very hard to keep things balanced. Sometimes to the point that it's a lil goofy--like w/having to fight both Meredith and Orsino cuz they didn't want it to look biased.

And really, in DA2, our only Templar perspective was actually Cullen. Fenris was anti-mage cuz of the horrors he endured in Tevinter. But that was more an info dump on Tevinter than anything specifically Templar related.

Now that this conflict has exploded, I would really be surprised if they did not include a counterweight to what we're seeing and having to deal with ---the Cray Red Templars (amongst other things).

I hope so,to be honest so far we've only seen the perspective of mage companions and the only (almost) templar we had in our team was anti-templar himself because it was a choice made for him. They are not a very likeable group and for understandable reasons but I'm interested in what the other side has to say as well, and I'd prefer if the representative was someone dedicated enough to his/her duties to be considered a templar but also reasonable.Cullen fits this description so far despite having some traumatic experiences with magic. And as most people have already mentioned, he was present during two world changing events which will definitely make his pov interesting.

Come to think of it....I have watched it a couple times. I like it...teehee. But Cass did go straight to being the Divine's hand. She did wrangle a giant dragon, then rode it in to KaBlowie! this other giant dragon. (Man, that scene is priceless  Kablowie! all slo-mo). And save the day

Well for those who watched DOS,I don't think Cassandra thinks very highly of templars,in fact it indicates that the relations between the Seekers and the Templars were strained to begin with,so her views considering the red templars, red lyrium, and the schism from the chantry are expected to be different. If Cullen is a companion I can see those two clashing on some issues.

I would have very much liked to play a pro templar in DA2. If for nothing else RP. But, regardless of how I supported the Templars thru the game, it came down to--if I support the Templars, I've gotta go kill a whole group of ppl that I Know for a fact! did not blow up the Chantry cuz it was Anders.

I was like, really? That's what it comes down to? This is what I have to do? This bit of logic breaking? It made no sense to me. Even as pro-Templar, I can't justify just murdering ppl for something they didn't do. So, I really felt hamstringed with that final choice.

I have yet to complete a pro-Templar PT. I just can't do it in the end.

Oh! that's right. I forgot abt. that. There was def a rift between them. Vying for power. And the Templars did not like having the Seekers looming over them.

True, she might have an issue with Meredith, and some of that frustration could lead to some friction. Conversely, Cullen could have some issues with Lambert, and that might reflect that onto Cass.

It would certainly be interesting to see things from the perspective of a Templar (Cullen) who's been both (initially) sympathetic of mages, and then full on hard-lined. Especially now that the Order is completely borked and he's had a crisis of faith.

His story is particularly intriguing because he wasn't as hardlined as some of the Templars in DA2 like Meredith and Ser Karras etc, but he also wasn't sympathetic of the mages to the point of naivety like Keran and Thrask, yet he shows (at times) both a hardlined attitude towards them AND occasional displays of sympathy (for example: Feynriel's Fade coma). Granted, he definitely ballsed up a few things and (to some) could've/should've acted sooner, BUT he was probably the only one shown in DA2 that was relatively moderate (neither one extreme or the other)... which is quite the feat in itself, considering he was still suffering over his pink bubble torture in DA:O.

This is the reason I wouldn't like a potential templar companion to be anything like Meredith...I remember I did a templar playthrough a while ago for science...Not so proud of it.
I even played a very ruthless character who didn't hesitate to kill the 3 mages who surrendered(Cullen's guilty sad face during that scene)I couldn't complete it either at some point I wanted to get in the screen and punch my character in the face. But yeah,It is indeed logic breaking not to mention outrageous, to support this kind of measures.

Oh man, I have. I was whining to myself and squirming in my seat as I stormed through the Gallows. It was terrible. Orsino's end made way more sense, though, and Cullen was epic (I got his back, yo).
