On a pro-templar run. I have several of them, but I always spare the 3 Mages and never let my siblings get killed. Never had problem with doing them, I wanted to see the different outcome (Also you get a achievement from it ... so yeah)

I find this skin more soothing and calm on my eyeballz
hey where do u see new skins? All mine does is change the bg pic but the text box is still white

My contention: As of DA2, Cullen is not a good person, as I don't believe that one can be good while serving evil. Agree/disagree?
Do note that I believe in redemption and that Cullen is rather more likely to have it than many.

That's kind of like me saying that the Catholic church is evil, and everyone who is Catholic is therefore evil.

Also, Greg Ellis is ignoring my tweet. He tweeted about something else, instead. But not to me.

Given how many Catholics do nothing to serve the Church and seriously disagree with it on points of doctrine, I don't think that holds up. In any case, the Templar Order is far smaller and more tightly unified in the actions it takes and the philosophy it espouses.

Thing is...in all honesty, Cullen fanboyness aside, there were times when I do think he can be fair and rational, and there were still a few times when I want to slap him. Notably the "Divine Right" BS he spouted in DA2.

I don't find that really accurate to be honest, what makes someone evil or good is his motivations.Although it isn't uncommon for someone generally considered "good" to do something evil or someone "evil" to do something good(The concept of morality is far more complex than that!).Cullen is more mislead rather than evil, his heart is in the right place but his actions may sometimes contradict that, due to what he considers his duty. The fact that he questions and doubts and even opposes some extreme views and measures, indicates that he has not completely lost his judgement to the brainwashing manipulative doctrines of the chantry.
Well that's my opinion anyway...Phew!A lot of character analysis today...

I know, right, it's like he's a complex, deeply flawed, and deeply human character. ![]()

He can be polite, but... I've never really heard any of his political opinions that I could consider fair.

Cullen being evil is only shown when he participates in an act of genocide, at which point any possible justifications fly out the window.

I'm not saying I believe that Catholics are evil, I was just using the Catholic church as an example. I could have said the Mormon church, or the US Military.

I think everyone might have a different opinion on what is evil. I don't see the Templar Order as evil, I might see it as a necessary evil. I also don't see a true bad person saving those 3 Mages for example (and I know they're supposedly made tranquil, but this is off screen and we don't know who is behind that.) I could see Sir Alrik go along with Meredith and kill those Mages, but Cullen didn't, so there has to be some sliver of good in the guy.

Someone who was not a truly bad person wouldn't have limited themselves to only saving three token mages to begin with.
As I mentioned before, I do think he's redeemable. I'd be willing to redeem Rendon Howe if I had the chance.
I know, right, it's like he's a complex, deeply flawed, and deeply human character.
Given that every evil person IRL has been deeply human, I don't see the two concepts as mutually exclusive.
Also, I apologize if I've become too heated.

This is one of those times where you're not sure what to post because you don't want the thread to turn into a flame-war. Sooo...
I hope the Devs are going to pull an April Fool's joke on the forums, just to break up the tension since everyone wants to know more information about the game.
