Did you see David Gaider's blog post on voice overs?  Something he said made me feel uneasy about the timing of Greg Ellis' initial VO tweet.

 

"Once the characters are cast—and this process takes place quite late in development, as you want those lines as settled and final as they can possibly be—the scripts start being printed."

 

What do they consider "quite late in development?"  Would the time that Greg Ellis tweeted he was doing VOs for Bioware be considered late in development?  Would the companion scripts have been complete at that stage?

Well since they pushed back the release date, it's hard to tell when they had things like the scripts printed and ready for VO recording. Could be they had him in to record some early lines, due to a scheduling conflict that would prevent him from coming in later, or that they are calling him in later/now to finish recording his dialogue. It's hard not to look more into the little things than we should, but I would wait for some more concrete info before worrying about it.

I bet the Howden thing is real ... cause if it's only April Fool's, then he'll have to retract the statement tomorrow. Which means he HASN'T been contacted by BW... which is revealing something, too

I doubt they'd release such an announcement that they'd have to retract and do damage control on. And that such retraction says something probably wouldn't deter them if they were indeed yanking our chains. I'm more inclined to think it's real but the date of this info coming out makes us not trust it. They're probably watching the threads and having a laugh at our expense, popcorn in hand.

I think we have to remember that Greg's tweet took place back when the game was expected last fall or winter or whatever. I think, if he is in the game, that he was beginning prep at a point that made sense for the original release time. Also, given how "enmeshed into the game the companions are" it seems that tweet came at about the right time. But I'm no dev so... :/
