I love all of the artwork! I've always had a thing for Cullen since DA:O. In fact his flirtation in the Circle caused me to create my first mage :].

So, hey, is anyone reading Asunder? No real spoilers please, since I have it waiting for me on my kindle, but anyone know if (hoping against hope) Cullen features at all? Since it deals with the Act 3 aftermath a bit (which is why I haven't read it yet; don't want to find out how far off my story is til I'm done), I'm mildly hopeful.

If Dragon Age 3 follows the events of this book though, I'll be excited to play it.

@mrs_anomaly - I do the same thing, stopping by as often as I can to chat with our dear Knight-Captain. I finally tried turning in Anders to him recently (for science!!) just to have more Cullen-words -- and see dear Sebastian think I'm awesome.

@Mallika, ah, thanks for the info. Bummer, but not surprising. Oh well. Guess we'll have to wait for DA3 . . . Actually, since we heard from Jennifer Hepler that we'll have some closure for Cullen, it's pointing more and more to DA3, right? ... right?

Totally agree with Cullen as LI for DA3. At the very least a companion, but it would be a crime not to romance him as well.  From DragonAgeConfessions recently, which must be zoning in on my brainwaves:  <3<3

I don't know if any of you also participated in the Bioware writing contest to celebrate DA: Asunder, but I just read a wonderful, bittersweet story about young Cullen that Cullenites might appreciate. Atonement by suilven.

In other, less talented news, I've posted Chapter 25 of Knight's Bloom, which brings us almost to the conclusion of that story.

Also, for fun, I also posted my own entry to the contest, which features a tiny bit of Cullen. Maker Be My Guide. As I mentioned early on this page, my character Tamsin was inspired in some sense by the girls who might have joined the Templars for, erm, questionable reasons.  Like, really good recruitment posters like the one by Arylas above. There's a bit more of this in the short prelude to the story I also posted (yes, my story idea ended up being a little big for a short story contest).

Good grief, the DA2 forums have really slowed down. I'm wondering when they will announce the next title in the DA franchise. Probably after the release of ME3, I suppose. Then, we shall head to Orlais! (I think. Total speculation on my part.) Cullen will also be annouced as a companion, right?

Since Cullen is one of David G's fave characters, I am hoping that he becomes a Party Member in the next Dragon Age game. Something along the lines that he no longer agrees with the way things are going in the order, and your main is trying to help put a stop to the 'new' war. So maybe, Cullen decides to help you out in hopes that he can achieve an order that works for both sides...

Also I cannot help but think that Cullen is crazy in a not good way. Was I the only one who found his obession with my Surana creepy and not romantic. Besides if Cullen and Cassandra and Tallis are forced upon me ugh...

I think you took a wrong turn, this is the Cullen appreciation thread. Speaking for myself, I did not think he was creepy and I would not feel that if he were a party member, he would be forced on me.

I think if Cullen were in DA3, companion or not, they would probably progress his character development from the end of DA2, not draw from the stuttering youth who was watching over Amell/Surana, nor the hot head who was locked in a cage. Arguably by the end of DA2 he's done quite a bit of evolving.  Depending on some game choices, he can ultimately embrace what he believes the Templar Order really stands for, which is protecting both the people and the mages, and is in sharp contrast to Meredith's beliefs (best seen when he allows the mages to surrender during the pro-templar ending). But in all cases, he is defying his templar superiors at the end for what he thinks is right.

I am also intrigued to see what he might do during the mage-templar war. Are his beliefs with or against the "establishment"? Has he been disciplined for supporting Hawke? Is he even still a Templar? I think that's all story gold, and fantastic fodder for a companion.

And... of course, I'd also be over the moon if he were a LI. I think there's lots of good story there too, as I was reminded from our discussion here of some points Mary Kirby once made about designing a LI.

In any event, as Mallika said, few companions are really forced on us anyway, since BW graciously gives us many choices in how we play.

Why? Shouldn't this be the place where people can explain to me why they love him or more precisely his character. I am not prone to bashing or hating fictional characters, the only reason I said forced is that if everyone prediction comes through then we will have Tallis, Cullen and Cassandra in da3, two of which (Tallis and Cullen) personality is fairly exposed and one who just irritatates me for no other reason that being a seeker a role I wist not to be forced upon me in da3 which is totallyt unfair to her. All in all I would rather have new or minor character come back in order to make it interesting. One semi-major are okay, but three makes them all three feel forced.  

So if someone here would give me an explanation about what is so fascninating about him, I might just be convinced about why he deserves a comback which would seriously remove some of my dread feeling about da3. So comeone this is an appriciation thread, no? Surely you guys can come up with some good reasons as to why he derserves not just a comeback but a Li status.
