Even if it's Cole who teaches you?

Ooh, good point. He doesn't really use conventional blood magic, so who knows? I guess if it turns out that he's a demon and he knows it (which may or may not be the case) he'd remember now how to do all that stuff... so I suppose so.

Really, I don't usually play a blood mage until I've gotten really bored of everything else. But if it has greater consequences on the plot this time around, I'll take it however I can get it.  Image IPB

Wow, go to sleep for a few hours and wake up to find six pages of reading to do!

Regarding Greg Ellis's statement that he didn't know which character(s) he would be voicing, it may be true. He originally thought that he *had* voiced Anders for DA2 because at the time, he wasn't really following the storyline much and didn't know who was who. And it isn't as if every NPC walks up and says "Hi, I'm So-and so." Also, the VAs have signed NDAs. If the writers are under gag orders, so are the actors. Even if Ellis knew, he couldn't tell anybody.

Also, Anders' VA said they didn't see scripts before they showed up to record. He (Greg Ellis)  just may not have been told.

And yeah, I'm with you in astonishment at this thread, berelinde. You guys are rockin' and rollin'.Somanyfun ideas for Cullen to join us as a companion. Here's hoping.   ...also that Lonaargh writes that horse washing scene... Needs to be done. LOL I wonder how it would go if he were indeed afraid of horses. ;) "You want me to do *what*?"

If Lonaargh writes the horse washing scene, I'll write the one where he's afraid of horses. ;)

So, which would you prefer: his being important or his leaving if you're a blood mage?

Perhaps the PC being a blood mage won't drive Cullen out because he knows the PC has world saving stuff to do and needs his help. So he stays out of a sense of duty, but maybe he can't find it in himself to romance the PC. The cost could be that the specialization bars one from having him as an LI. It disgusts him and tarnishes whatever feelings he may have and he leaves at the end and there is no Happy Ever After with him if you go that route. If that happened though, I would prefer that they make it possible for the PC to hide it for a while. It'd be extra angsty if he found out as you're getting undressed for Happy Hour because the PC has scars from using his or her own blood at times.

Or maybe Cullen finding out could be when he's being rescued by he PC who has no choice but to use blood in front of him to save him and he/she nearly kills themselves in the process only to recover and find out that Cullen can't stand to look at her/him.

I wonder if you'd get a chance to persuade him back into a romance? That seems like the most likely route.

You know that "inquisitor" insignia that was found supposedly in the DA2 files? Well it looks like the Seeker insignia with the Templar insignia running through the middle. Speaking hypothetically for a moment, if this survey leak is real and from the ashes of this "magical blast that decimates the Chantry's leadership" the new inquisition rises, then perhaps the inquisition will be made up of Cassandra and her Seeker squad, a bunch of other random people and the remaining Templars that have chosen to remain loyal to the Chantry/Divine. If that's the case then that would explain why that concept insignia is part Templar and part Seeker.

Sooo, my theory is that the protagonist will find himself/herself at this "gathering of peace" mentioned in the "leak" and that's where we will run into Cullen, either before, during or directly after the "blast/explosion". Ideally (if I was writing the script) we would run into him before the blast where we would see him talking to someone important as we approach, he would then leave to carry out some task whilst we talk to the important person, then during the explosion/blast we would run into him again as he pushes us out the way of a falling statue/structure, from there we would either temporarily join forces with him to help or take orders from him to help rescue casualties (something big/important that would "seal our fate" as "the inquisitor".) Then finally after the blast all the remaining survivors would gather together amongst the rubble and "the inquisition" would form. Cassandra would demand that she accompanies us and Cullen would be ordered to join the protagonist too as he played a part in helping/ordering our protagonist to accomplish whatever "big thing" he/she done to end up as the inquisitor.

I... suppose someone who disliked the Chantry could still work with the Inquisition? For pragmatic reasons? Although I have no idea why they'd call it the Inquisition, since that was explicitly the name of the templar organization before it joined the Chantry. I'd think they'd try to make a new Seeker group instead.

I don't think we should be able to. He could tell the protagonist that he does have feelings for her BUT he could never be with her due to the blood magic. That being said, he'd probably say the same if your protagonist is just a regular Mage too lol.

Yeah, it does seem strange to just reuse that name rather than coming up with a new one.

If anyone had asked me about the possibility of the inquisition arising in DA3, I would have presumed that the rebelled Templars had renamed themselves because they'd broken away from the Chantry and were now hunting mages like the old inquisition did.

Well, clearly that won't happen. You can romance Fenris as a mage, after all.

And oh well. I would never romance Cullen anyway.

My guess is that it's a filler name for now.

Yeah, that was stupid. Like Anders dating a pro-Templar Hawke, it was ridiculous. He wouldn't even dump you if you told Cullen about his antics.

Stuff like that should have repercussions.

So you think that no mage should be able to romance Cullen?

Well, I'd like a Mage to be able to romance Cullen, but it would make sense that he wouldn't.

Dunno. I could totally see him remaining with a mage as long as she wasn't a blood mage.

"I ran away from my fears once before, but that was long ago. I was hardly more than a child. I've grown since then. I have seen the madness that drives reason from mage and templar alike, and it is the hunger for power. I have looked into your eyes and seen the beauty of your heart. I am not afraid."

Because this is Cullen we're talking about. If he was going to confess feelings for a mage, he'd do it in a dramatic way.

TBH, I don't know enough about reavers to say. They''re kind of like blood-magic warriors, right? Can't see him going for that.

Exactly! Another good example from DAII is when you hand Isabela over to the Qunari (yes I did it, for science!) you hear about her escaping but she never comes back to try and take revenge. It seems more in her personality to try something against Hawke, as she promised she would, but there was nothing. Act 3 would certainly have been more fun had that been so. ^_^
