lol.. sorry.. you will get to see it when you get home... or maybe on ur lunch break
It'll have to be home - right behind my desk is the communal lunch table where my manager often lingers. Gives me something to look forward to though ![]()

Question: Do you think a non-Fem!Amell/Surana playthrough is as valid as other playthroughs when it comes to the complex formation of Cullen's character? Secondly, do you think he crushed on Fem!Amell/Surana (as in, did they even exist) in these other playthroughs?
I definitely headcanon one each of the potential Warden last names existing, to the extent that it's logically possible (I don't know much about the non-Amell/Surana origins).
I've always wondered if Amell/Surana are two different people or more like an alternate reality warden type deal. They do have the same exact origin, I mean.
I also look at the forums and then Nevarra and the Free Marches aren't places. ![]()

I've never been sure. Apparently if you play as any other race you can find the corpse of the potential Dwarven commoner (or noble, I forget).
So I've always taken it to mean that all the characters existed, but the only one that survived/become noteworthy was which one the player picks to play the game as.

It was the Dwarven commoner who was in the cell. The Dwarven noble probably died from the darkspawn, since they didn't meet the GWs in time.

Ohhh. Wow, that's intriguing. So maybe Cousland was killed with his/her family, and maybe Mahariel disappeared into the mirror with Tamlen.
The thing is, it seems like so much of our discussion about Cullen (and I've definitely been a part of this) centers around his sexuality and his love life. I was just wondering lately if we focus too much on that (meaning, to the exclusion of other equally interesting aspects of his character).
Is it possible to look at Cullen and to not even worry or care about who he once had a crush on and whether or not he's a virgin or sexually active? I know we have a tendency to equate these issues with religion, and Cullen is very religious, but in this world I'm not sure sexuality and religion are really connected. (Sebastian mentions his deviant behavior before joining the Chantry, though, so there is that).

I think it's pretty much canon all the origins exist at the exact same time. The one that gets 'rescued' from their fate, however, is just the one you play. Whether or not Amell/surana was female or male if you don't play 'em, though, I don't know.
Brosca is a male if you don't chose the dwarf commoner origin. I had feels when you can find their body and Leske. Especially when Brosca was my very first playthrough. ![]()
The dwarf noble is mentioned passively. Someone in Orzammar mentions the king's "three sons" and how one was exiled. Bet that presumed death by darkspawn was fun.
I'm pretty sure it was semi confirmed at one point that all origin characters co-exist in the world together. Duncan could only recruit one however before the poop hit the fan at Ostagar.

That's the one! So then, the Cousland probably died when Rendon Howe betrayed them, the Dalish Elf died/became a ghoul with Tamlen, the city Elf probably became a nobody or died when those douche bags turned up to cause trouble, Dwarven noble got exiled or died, and the mage Amell/Surana probably got sent to Aonar, escaped with Jowan or got killed in the blood mage uprising/became an abomination.

Sebastian is a bit different, though, seeing he chose to take those vows. It wasn't that those vows were needed to join the Chantry, just that he used them as proof that he was giving up his old ways and swearing himself to the Chantry.
...And for some reason it magically turned him into a blushing choir boy, even though he was anything but before. ![]()

Heh, I take i'm not the only one who wishes we'd had pre-vows Sebastian.
He sounded like a fun guy. One I would have enjoyed not taking home to mother dearest ![]()
Yes. Yes, I do.

I believe there are probably valid,in the same manner the castles and noble dwarf origins where considered valid as well as you encounter/hear about them at some point in the game...Though Cullen's codex doesn't mention anything about being in love with the mage unless the player chooses to play as a fem mage in origins. So I'll assume that the default mage is probably a male Amell/Surana...I always wondered what happened to the city elf I mean you find Sorris later in the game but he never mentiions the potential city elf warden,or at least I think so...
Out of topic, one of the unis I applied to sent me an invitation to join an Archaeology open-day event In KIRKWALL!(The real Kirkwall of course up in the Orkney Islands, but still...)The DA reference is strong in this one Lol...

I think the potential characters from the origins that weren't chosen by the player all suffer grim fates. The city elf is probably killed in the dungeons, as they didn't have Duncan to conscript them, or may have survived by Soris taking the blame - only to die in the riots later on. Who knows?
And btw, that invitation is awesome! Let's hope there aren't any religious zealots or insane mages there. ![]()

City elf might have died from that sickness or sold into slavery.

Or maybe he died from the plague,I forgot about that...It's interesting though that they chose the whole alternate universe where the rest of the potential wardens are killed if Duncan doesn't show up to recruit them.
(Ah yes it I was so excited at first, but then I realised that it's in a week and I'll probably move in Scotland by the end of July, so I'll probably miss it...

I hate thinking about this, it makes me want to save all of them! (and I haven't even played them all!) ![]()
Stupid Duncan only able to be in one place at a time.
It also means that Amell and Surana probably knew each other.

WIth that one it really depends on the gender of the elf, right? IIRC, the male elf barges in with Soris with one of Duncan's swords, which is why he lives instead of getting obliterated like the would-be groom. The bride gets one of Duncan's swords from Soris. If Duncan isn't there, no sword. No sword means no successful rescue. Shiani lives, but I bet the female elf fights back and gets slaughtered for it.

I just assume one was female, the other male. So Cullen can still get his crush on ![]()

I wonder where the other one is during the Origin, since two very different options exist in the same space. Perhaps they fought to the death when they were infants.
(Fight to the death over Jowan.)

LOL, somewhere else in the tower, I guess!
