It's just weird that they'd choose a very deep voice for the British voice, knowing they'd also be choosing an American voice, and that most players would want the American voice for their dwarves and qunari.

Natasha Little is the British voice I'm hoping for my female Qunari Inquistor. She voiced Janeka from Legacy, other voices from DA2, and the female Sith Warrior from SWTOR.
Oh yes, I liked Janeka's voice.

Hah, she also voiced Nan (the cook in the Cousland Origin) in Dragon Age: Origins.

Well I think the American voice will be the elven default too. It's only really humans with British, (and of course by that they mean English), accents. Which is probably why they need that pitch changer.

That reminds me, someone translated the notes that were painted onto the bum of a naked character in some medieval work of art (I'm probably getting the time period wrong, bah); listening to the music was supposed to open the gates of Hell. I listened to it but sadly nothing happened...
Don't give me that sad face; you already get an ultra deep British voice. Some of us want choices in the tonal department!
LMFAO! I'd love to hear what it sounded like, though!

Don't scare me like that!
No worries, guys, a really deep voice isn't my ideal, but I can still build a character around it. The more masculine the voice sounds, the harder it is to identify with it, I guess... but I can still make a lovely character. Also, the VA was probably really ladling on the "macho husky ranger" type voice in that video; hopefully, he can sound more average during regular dialogue.
I mean there's Hawke's magnificent male VA; he can sound pretty heavy and macho when doing aggro!Hawke as well as Malcolm in Legacy, but then sarcastic Hawke sounds like a little boy sometimes, lol!
So, we'll see.
But yeah, an ultra deep American voice would be a massive disappointment. Hell, if they go any deeper, only elephants will be able to hear it LOL
I adored how he sounded as sarcastic Hawke. Adorable.
I hope the British male Inquisitor can have a boyish tone like that on some of his dialogue. Would work perfect for my male human rogue I have planned for one of my playthroughs.

I disagree since they made all the elves Welsh in the last game, so possibly not. So far, I believe all Qunari and dwarves were the ones that had American voices.

Only the Dalish, and even then it was only Merrill with the Welsh accent. The rest were all Irish. City Elves in 'English' areas are still American. Remember whats her face? Huon's wife?

Touche. But we only have Dalish Inquisitors now, so they could very well be Irish or Welsh, or something other than American. Regardless, you get to pick your VA, so it's moot.

But they said we have the option of an English VA and an American VA. No Irish or sexy Welsh accent for this Potato Cat. And we're saying it's weird if elves have been left in the lurch like this.

I as hoping for an Irish VO for the humans and elves.

To be fair, the "English" voice sounds kind of northern English to my untrained American ears, almost Scottish.

I had sort of been hoping for an Irish VA option, but I feel conflicted enough about my probably-going-to-be-super-Paragon Inquisitor having a last name I associate with a historical douchebag as it is.

Awww well there's nice Trevelyans too. The university I'm hoping to go to in October has a college named after a Trevelyan, so that one probably wasn't as evil.

Sounded like your bog standard English accent to me! I want everyone to sound like the majority of the GoT cast.

I would've guessed southern, actually, but I'm terrible at hearing English accents. Thanks to how my whole family is English, it's pretty much "what are you talking about? I'm not hearing an accent?" to me. I've been told I have 'a thick as hell' English accent which always confuses me too. ![]()
