Those are a lot of thoughts...Wow. I'll just tackle the first one, since my views on the other thoughts aren't as strong/non-existant. (Like, I couldn't care less about Sandal, so long as he doesn't become a major player)

Personally, I doubt they'd have a class specific companion again. And it wouldn't take out one warrior for another warrior. And I really don't think Cassandra will be the one taken out since I think she's this game's poster girl.

But above all, the reason I dislike the concept of class specific companions, (and why I don't think DAI will have it), is because it takes away the player agency. I wouldn't be opposed to a Virmire where the player CAN decide and will directly affect the fate of two companions, especially if it's not just limited to one set, like say Cassandra or Cullen. Because the two companions they choose to be sacrificed may well have really interesting dynamic between them. Obviously, it would be a much less powerful decision with the metaknowledge, and people would just use this as a way of disposing of their least favourite character, but the first time, players will probably choose some of their favourites.

I could see a virmire choice. Easily.

And if it had two set companions for the chop, I'm willing to bet it'll involve Varric.

Well now that would be as easy as choosing between Kaidan and Ashley for me

More like "How to get an Exalted March called on BioWare"

Same, (kill Varric every time, unless the red lyrium I gave him made him interesting). Except I actually really struggled over the Kaidan/Ashley situation. I mean, I definitely wanted to keep Kaidan and I never spoke to Ashley, but I somehow really confused myself over who would be saved with which one to pick.

But still, Varric would make for the most fan tears.

Except for one play through I always picked Kaidan. That one time I wanted to see the Ashley romance. Have to admit, I was underwhelmed by it.

It was easy for me in ME1 as well, but not for good reasons.  The only way to avoid a romance in ME1 was basically to be a jerk to Liara and then sacrifice the other on Virmire. Generally, that meant Kaidan got blowed up. After I switched to the PS3, a whole new universe of living Kaidans opened up to me.

That being said, I don't hate Varric, but I don't have the same love for the character that it seems the majority has, so, I think he'd end up being the one to meet his ancestors. Especially if Cullen were the other option.

EDIT: (I'm having flashes to that one episode of Firefly where the bad guy tries to make one of the characters choose between her good friend and her husband, and she chooses her husband before the bad guy even finishes speaking. It'd be like that for me.  ^_^ )

Good answer lol

Kaidan's probably my favorite BioWare romance, period.

Yeah... I'm a bad human being. I actually thought Shepard sounded too broken up when he told Ashley she was on her own. I had no positive feelings towards the character whatsoever LOL

Nah, Kaidan who? :P

Kaidan's probably my favorite BioWare romance, period.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the romance, especially how they waited until ME3 to reveal and realize their feelings for one another. It was slow, sweet burn, and a confession made during a time of duress. Very romantic. But I could never shake the feeling that my Shepard really, really cared for Joker, and it always annoys me that not only can I not romance him, but that he hooks up with that stupid robot.

My favorite romances would be... Fenris, Isabela, Kaidan, then Zevran.

Only other person I've romanced (completely) is Anders, and I just feel his romance drops off after Act 3.

Oh, Joker. :( (The disappointment will never die!)

I love Zevran's romance so much that it pains me not to do it when I play DAO, no matter my character. On Anders' romance, I agree that it drops off in Act 3 (until the end), but I've never been able to tell if that's how it's supposed to feel (because he's trying to pull away from Hawke before his plan goes into action) or if it's just another thing to blame on time constraints.

To make this more on topic, I don't know how I'd want Cullen's romance to go. I think I'm trying not to think about it too much, or else I might come up with some GRAND AWESOME HEADCANON and get crushed when the game comes out. (Joker-and-Anders ow-ow-ow-ow-ow)

Yeah, I always thought of that as a problem with ME. The writing always seemed to assume Shepard liked everyone on her crew, but it was rarely the case for me. Always a head banging against the wall situation with me.

The whole cast is the sh!t.

Yay, top 5 romances listing time! Love lists! Now this isn't a list of my favourite LIs, just the romance itself. (Hence why Seb isn't on here)

1. Alistair
2. Morrigan
3. Isabela
4. Fenris
5. Kaidan

Yeah I'm not even letting my head go there, now that I'm convinced he's an NPC. And I very much doubt we'll get NPC romances, but you never know.

It's depressing, trying to figure out who I'll romance in this game since Cullen probably won't be an option.

*sighs* I would be okay with them letting us create a M!Warden x Alistair romance in the Keep. I would so do that!

EDIT: Ditto for F!Warden x Morrigan. Imagine Morrigan approaching her beloved about letting Alistair do the DR with her...

On the one hand, that would be great. But at the same time, I really did enjoy Zev's romance, and I don't think I would want to change that.

Oh yes, Zevran's romance is adorable, sweet, just perfect <3 But... it's just perfect for my city elf. I felt more of a connection to Alistair during my Dalish playthrough.

Okay, so, I'm working on my 5000 page celebration piece, and I'm wondering something. Did we every come to a consensus as to when Cullen was born? How much older than Hawke is he? Or is he older? (Help help I'm drowing in the details!)

I'd put him at about 35 or so. So, that'd make him born in 9:5 Dragon

I don't think he'd be much older. Plus, 5 is an acceptable number, so 9:5 would be a great year for him to have been born.

Agree, 35-40 is what I imagine.
