I think the tweet GE said yes to could be interpreted in 2 ways. He asked if there were questions after mentioning Cullen and that reply tweet from Kelly asked if there would be romance. Now, we know what she was referring to but since it wasn't specified in her tweet and Bioware has said they plan on doing romances, GE could have been playing coy. Because, of course, there are romances. He wasn't asked specifically if Cullen would be romanceable, just would there be romance. He probably knew what was meant as well but didn't say yes, Cullen would be a companion or yes, Cullen would be an LI. Also, parsing his lack of refuting the "AND" isn't proof that the yes applies to both - if it applied to either one. It's a classic case of "say what you mean". Without specifics, GE's reply to Kelly could mean yes to what she meant or yes to the basic fact that DA:I will have romances in it. And being the tease he is, it's not impossible for him to toy with his response. I still think his mention of the kind of dialogue he was doing is telling but again, not everything an actor performs is released in the final product. As exciting as it is to assume the best case scenario, until it's "officially" official we all probably got carried away.

 

Lola? I don't envy you. Knowing too much and being NDA'd must really suck. lol! Rather than being able to just squee along with the rest of us, you have to hold back. :/

Well now... reading the posts about GE's tweets in this thread is an emotional rollercoaster (I don't know how you guys can handle it lol)

 

Step 1: Cullen confirmed to be in DA:I

Step 2: finding out if he's a companion and/or LI or an important NPC

 

It would be kind of bittersweet for me if he is a companion but only a straight LI, but as Lorien19 explained well: he's definitely more than just a LI

 

Still, It's awesome to have read the last 10/15 pages though!!

My next biggest fear: They go with 2 straight / 2 bi / 2 gay set-up, but the NPCs are the straight option, opposite of ME.

I am surpriced you found one of Mavrosh apealing. I warned you she was very mature and dark. If you read her char descriptions they are all bad, bad, bad boys with a stroke of sadist in them. ^^ But yeah, she does some gorgeous creations, just not soft and young. I adore the one of Zevran and her main Warden (you will have to dig because it's old)

About Greg Ellis. What is now confirmed is Cullen is in the game. We kind of knew that. I will be waiting for official BIOWARE confirmation before I start celebrating though. I can imagine he never played the games and have NO clue of what we are talking about. He could be saying that there will be romance... but not talking about HIS char.

 

Still, my stomach is hurting so much because I want to know and have such high hopes.

Curses! Still out of likes... :/ I haven't gotten far Thief 4 yet. Been busy. I do think the new actor is very good but I still think the old one was something special. They got close to his sound but not quite there. He's cuter, though. I haven't been keeping up with youtube much but with so many cool peeps having channels, I guess I better start. lol!

 

As for Cullen? I didn't... "know" know that he would be in DA:I. I mean I hoped and had reason I felt were quite strong but it was hard to decipher which were really sensible and which were pure fan-wishing. So having the confirmation is a big deal to me. Next, I just hope he has a good story. Being a companion and/or LI is just sprinkles on the cupcake.

Well,to be honest even though I mentioned that a potential romance,isn't the most important aspect in a companion for me...If he also happened to be a LI,I'd definitely prefer it If he was playersexual or bi,so that both male and female fans can romance him.

Hm, I wonder if GE's twitter party was a part of the marketing department's strategy. Maybe they called him, "Hey, you can totally write on twitter Cullen is back!"

There are different groups of players. Some can't wait to see the new characters and places, and some will be happy to hear their favourite characters from previos games are coming back. So, you reveal a bit of this and a bit of that, and keep everyone excited and ready to spend money on the new game.
