That tweet is the one I've sank my claws into until the official word comes that it's not what it seems.  'Cause it sounds pretty damn promising to me.

Okay, why are we thinking he will be an NPC romance and not a companion romance?

I'm not, but some people were feeling a little down, that maybe Cullen wouldn't be a companion. I'm just saying, if he's not, there no reason for an NPC romance to be an utter mess.

Also he may not fully understand the terminology. Companionship to him might not mean he's a companion.

OK, think I'm caught up. Yeah, I'm afraid this is way too vague to be any kind of confirmation. There's no way GE has any idea how we will surgically examine his exact wording for clues, and I'm sure he's just trying to playful. 

 

I think we know he's in the game... as we did before. The sexy dialogue is encouraging! I think it's still wide open whether he can be a companion or NPC and whether he might be romanced in either of those capacities.

Yeah, taken together with him later saying "what do you mean 'can he be romanced' ?" clearly points to him not being straight foward that "yes, cullen can be romanced." If he had just confirmed it, why not just say "yes" a second time.

I do take that tweet where he said he recorded some sexy dialogue as someone he voiced can be flirted with. He could end up recording for more than one character.

The timeline goes, if I remember correctly: GE did Raunchy Dialogue -> What is Romance -> YES to companionship and romance

 

Perhaps he got clarification from someone, or maybe he decided to wing it. Either way, the "YES" conversation is not a definitive answer in and of itself. The "Raunchy Dialogue" answer, however...

GE's tweets could be a ruse, but he doesn't strike me as a cruel man. He seems to enjoy interacting with his audience in positive ways, so I doubt he'd intentionally troll us. He's definitely doing the "Wink, wink, nudge, nudge" thing, but his ambiguity strikes me more as "I've got a secret!" in the surprise birthday party kind of way rather than the impending tax audit kind of way. If that makes any sense. Please be gentle. I've only had one cup of coffee.

Either way, we probably will get something more concrete as he's in the booth and will be tweeting from there today.

So quick summary of the day.

 

1. GE confirms he is recording Cullen, has recorded raunchy and sexy lines of dialogue. 

2. Greg has vaguely teased us that romance and "companionship" are in the game, not directly whether they include Cullen. 

3. Allan has stopped by to reiterate that any comment he makes has nothing to do with confirming or denying what GE is saying (really, all he had done was make the same point about how vague "companionship" was as a term).

20 hours? Surely he must be a companion. I mean I don't claim to know the inner workings of how long it would take to get a character fully VO'd, but surely that's substantially more than it would have taken for his role in DA2.

I agree, and he did some voice work earlier already. Definitely a major NPC/companion.
