Has anyone seen a Cullen Dr Doctor banter yet?
Eh? o.O

I think there's been very little "proving" one way or another outside that short period with DG. I don't think most of the devs know much about us. We don't participate in the main threads, and they generally don't come here anymore. My point being that outside of DG and Cameron, I doubt most of them have an informed opinion about the typical Cullenite. See for example Jessica's first post here in the new forum.I think when they were of the opinion we were the pitch fork carrying / torch wielding crazy fangirl trope, they were more apt to believe it was just for the looks and the sexings. But we proved to them that the majority of us wouldn't behave that way due to headcanons getting in the way, or having a preconceived idea of how we felt they should take his character. And then they stopped treating us like rabid fan people, thus when they started saying how nice we are. I think they get we like him for more than his looks/body.

That is true; he did say very specifically that he would never "pander" to fans. That character interactions are there to serve the story. Though I'm not sure how sleeping with Cammen or Isabela "serves the story" lol
They were brief appearances, though. They weren't shoved into the whole game for no reason. And when Izzy returned, she was more than just fanservice. She had a good story and affected gameplay. The devs have proven that if a character is brought back, they do it for a good reason. Which mollifies me a bit.

Dr Doctor often posts little banters he's made up between the companions. They're pretty good. I was just wondering if he's done a Cullen one.

at the time it seemed like a big "no way" but in detail, you know how he's always careful not to talk in absolutes or overstate.Did Gaider ever say 'no' to NPC romances completely, or just that he didn't think they worked? I know i've seen something along those lines before but for the life of me I can't remember exactly.

The real question is whether or not Cullen will suffer from Carth Syndrome.
HA. From Amell/Surana? Oh man, we could be Carth'd by our own characters.

Even if there are some that believe that's how we are, I still don't believe they'd write him a certain way because of that. That would be pandering to people, which they keep telling all of us they ain't gonna do.
For the one night stand theory, anyway. Flirting, period, on the other hand. That's something that seems more reasonable for them to include.

Aww, I liked Carth. The 'you remind me of my dead wife' was bit of a, 'gee, thanks?' moment though.

Oh I agree, I don't think they'd put in a cheesy one night stand to pander to us. I still believe DG that BW wouldn't pander to fans without service to the story. But I could still imagine Cullen, important NPC, right hand of the Inquisitor, big plot heavy non-party character ... Who gets a Sebastian-sized number of (hopefully not painfully awkward) flirts that go nowhere.Even if there are some that believe that's how we are, I still don't believe they'd write him a certain way because of that. But that's FAR too much negative thinking for me today.

I think if they did pander, it'd be more visual than storywise. Like all of Miranda's arse shots, (which I admittedly quite enjoyed), we might get a 'saucier' love scene.

That's definitely the type of fan service I don't want. I don't think they'll do heavy pandering, but one could argue a tiny amount of fan service is there. Like when they make cameos utter unnecessary catch phrases.. And Cullen talking of Amell and never meeting her like again.. a carry over nod from a female Amell playthru.
But bleh, it's been long enough to never mention them again by the time Inquisition comes around!
Flip a table indeed.. Because if he is romanceable, there's always the people that didn't even play an Amell or Surana female, so there'd be no point in him mentioning them to the Inquisitor if one carried over a different warden origin.
But I could see a tiny mention if one -did- carry over Amell/Surana. I still wouldn't want to hear it. At least. Repeatedly.

Yeah, that was... bad. I was so excited when I found out that Sebastian was chaste romance, but the execution did not allow for me to even pretend my Hawke was asexual. Gah. Actually, that's probably why the idea of a one-night-stand-type-thing rings so odd for me. ![]()

I only want to hear about it on my third playthrough with an Amell Warden. But even then I won't be romancing him on that playthrough.

What if we run into the Warden (Amell/Surana) while Cullen is with us? That could be mildly interesting. Although I can't remember if the devs said the Warden would appear or if they said the Warden would definitely NOT appear.
Honeeestly, I could probably live with a Sebastian-like romance for Cullen, because at least it has some flirting and gets acknowledged at some points in the game, like in MoTA with Bethany and Sebastian in the party ![]()

A flirt, on the other hand. That I find more reasonable, since other NPCs have had flirts in the past. Including Cullen. And personally, I like the idea of that. Flirting with a matured and manly version of Cullen, versus the running away from Amell/Surana Cullen.
flirting could be fun, but I mean.. in the long run it will just make me want something more with him so that would just be a massive tease and then I would get pissy
