I think I'm a leeeetle too fermented for my own good. Looking at my tweet to DG, and it suddenly doesn't seem as clever as I initially thought.
LOL Drunk tweeting will get ya every time!

Marathon forum session GO!
Kinda awkward RL question here: My husband got me started on Dragon Age and still loves it (but doesn't obsess in the "off season" like I do) so he normally enjoys when I gush about everything to him. I told him about the Cullen tweets when he asked why I was so giddy and he got super negative. I've barely ever mentioned Cullen to him and I certainly wasn't ranting about wanting in Cullen or Greg Ellis' pants, and we like to discuss all the romances (he loves Morrigan and Miranda) so this threw me off
Have any of you run into something like this before?
Edit: feels weird to bring this up here, but you are Cullen experts!
It could just be that he doesn't like Cullen? We've all got that one character that makes us roll our eyes whenever they're brought up.

I knoooow! But I couldn't resist a chance at a Men In Tights pun!

D'aww, that sounds annoying. Mine just makes fun of Cullen. He used to make up fanfics about "King Cullen" (King Kullen is a local grocery store chain, its logo is below) and how he'd battle the evil "Target". Pfft.

I was so behind on the forums (70 pages!!) so I had to skim through them pretty quickly. LOL, apparently I missed alot.
I hope they all stay delurked.

Whenever I mention Cullen to my family, they give me a confused "WHAA... WHO?" look every time. They don't really care about the DA, sadly.
HA. My boyfriend is like "What's up with you?" I said, "What do you mean?" He said, "You're bouncing off the walls, huge smile on your face, and making odd giggling noises..." I said, "Oh, I love you, but you just wouldn't understand. It's Cullen!!!" He said, "Cullen?" Then I tried explaining and he just lost interest and went back to playing Infamous Second Son. Haha! I was intentionally trying to bore him so he would stop asking questions. Mission success.
But, he's never played DA. I'm playing DA2 on his psn name to platinum it for the trophy since I've already done that for my name on my PS3. He loved Mass Effect, though.
give him the game. He will soon be on here! lol.
Side note: I don't actually know anyone who plays DA outside here....

Hubs has never done this to me - he just laughs at me in good humor. But I have had exes that are fine with me obsessing over a phenomenon as a whole but doing so over a male character, even if it's platonic in nature, they get all insecure and bristle that another guy (pixelated or not) has your attention. =/ At least that's my experience with such behavior anyway. I'm sorry if that's not reassuring because I'm not trying to be a downer on purpose. ![]()
I've tried to get my friends to try playing DA, but I pester them about it so often I think I ruined the game for them forever. ![]()

I ham it up on purpose.
Like this morning at breakfast I was dancing around singing 'raunchy sexy dialogue' over and over and over again.
I embarrass my offspring daily. Husband doesn't understand any of it.
Maybe our next thread celebration theme should be Raunchy Cullen in honor of the GE tweet. LOL
I don't know. I don't think he really knows what 'companion' or 'LI' really is, so even if he could say that he was one or both of those, he wouldn't understand the game mechanics enough to verify Cullen's role.
I'm holding onto the fact that he's recorded a great deal more dialogue this time, and he's not even finished. That points to companion, or at the very least a major NPC. Same with having to record "sexy" dialogue. Considering what we know about Cullen's character, he doesn't seem the type to say anything salacious lightly. He's always been shy around women, I can only see him talking like that after he really loves/trusts the PC. I know some think maybe he could be saying stuff to another NPC but do you really think Bioware would be that cruel???

Well now, seems like today is a GOOD day! ![]()
Raunchy Dialogue! ![]()
My glass is filled to brimming and I believe we have Thedas's sexiest Templar as a companion.

Oh.....and a totally cool book to read this afternoon. (My apologies to Patrick Weekes, I've been looking forward to The Masked Empire forever but you know this is CULLEN!)

Technically, we don't really know much at all about *actual* Cullen's personality. He was shy and stuttery around Amell. He was nervous at the mention of questioning the working girls at the brothel. Aside from those two in game facts, I think everything else we've concocted in our minds via this thread or fanfics. He could be a totally different person. ![]()

No, really, really tempt her! ![]()

Ooh, maybe I could appease him with Second Sons! I'll shower him with gifts like a DA:O companion and bring him around eventually, mwuahaha

We're getting a copy for console and PC so we don't fight
We had some of the lamest arguments EVER when DA2 came out and we only had one copy! I swear we're grown ups.

Oh, I don't think you're a downer! I should probably just take a different approach with my husband. Maybe the "never mention Cullen again and only click romance options when I play alone in the middle of the night" approach. LOL I'm going to turn into a creeper

My husband doesn't get 'into' the fandom of the games he plays, he plays predominately RTS games though. He seems rather bemused most of the time when I talk about them with him. My 16 year old son is the one that I theorycraft and thrash things out with usually lol
Sorry to hear he got negative though, and sorry I can't be of anymore help, men are funny creatures at the best of times.
