I don't think he supports the Chantry no matter what. If they did something truly awful, then I think he would recognize the moral wrong there. That said, I have no idea what happened in this particular situation as I'm not up on the lore that much, sadly.

I agree on that I feel like he could have the capacity to say "yeah that was bad." but usually devout people will defend their religion if they feel it is under any kind of attack, even if they know that it was in the wrong. Which makes sense because you're supposed to defend the faith. Actually I always got the impression he is more attached to the chantry then the Templars even.

Shush babe! We are voting for Cullen to be the companion kit still :D

Well I mean if it's an elf rather than Cullen. Obviously Cullen is my first choice.  ;)

Actually I kinda feel like a spoiled brat because I keep thinking, "Oh a dragon age picture awesome! Oh....more nature. Ok that's cool I guess!" But what my mind really wants to think is "SHOW ME PEOPLE! It doesn't have to be companions, it could just like be some guy walking down the road -that's totally fine!" Lol! But pictures of nature are way better than no pictures at all. And at least it isn't pictures of just walls or a dirt road lol! So yeah -pessimistic brain be silenced!

I feel the same way. Pretty scenery is pretty, but I'm more interested in knowing who inhabits it.

Ok so I think that this would be a cool thing to talk to Cullen about. I would imagine he would feel inclined to defend the chantry and some of it's past deeds but maybe not. It'd be interesting to discuss with him topics like current politics and past wars. We know he isn't exactly fond of the Qunari and possibly dwarfs. Although I wouldn't hold that "Ignorant cave dwelling heathen" line against him because he was still trapped in the pink cage and aggravated. But how does he feel about elves? He can have a crush on a female elf in origins so maybe he isn't as biased against them.

Slavemasters having children with slaves in the American South was quite common. One hardly needs to be open-minded to be attracted to a minority.

I burst out laughing an now everyone in the library is giving me dirty looks lol.

I work for the library and believe me image would not be a problem. at. all.  Not compared to what many patrons like to view in full site of everybody and everyone.

For the laugh? I'd have to give you the official librarian shush.

Yeah, I think Cullen's reaction would probably depend on whether he felt attacked or not. If he felt you were insulting his faith, of course he would defend it - that's only natural. If the Inquisitor didn't make Cullen feel like he had to be in defense-mode, though, I think you could actually have a really interesting conversation about morality with him.

This is true. What I wonder is why you wouldn't do the exact same thing with Cassandra... unless you did.

I would very much enjoy these types of conversations - I didn't find Leliana's chats about the Maker particularly fascinating, but her doubts and questioning conversations were.

While that's true, I also think you have to take the crush in context.

Cullen was exactly the opposite of presumptuous, and was much more agreeable to talking to the mage than hopping into bed with her. (He runs if she propositions him. If she doesn't, he sticks around and shyly says she can talk to him any time. Conversation without a sexual advance yields the more favorable response.) I didn't see any indication he perceived superiority or entitlement.

Oh man really? That's pretty bad. How do you handle that sort of thing when it happens? I'd imagine shushing doesn't work in that particular scenario lol!

I'm actually excited to bother both of them about it! Maybe at the same time! Oh the potential possibilities that may still not happen that I'm getting too excited for!

the beauty of working in the big downtown branch is security guards!

Actually we don't bother with the porn viewers much, unless other patrons complain. We can't censor what people are looking at - they can always (and have!) claim it's 'research'. Though why you need your hands in your lap while you're 'researching' big bouncing bazongas is beyond me.

But surely if he believed he had some sort of racial superiority, he would have been much more aggressive around her.

I don't think he has anything against elves myself. Dalish elves perhaps, but then again, they pose less of an active threat to the Andrastians than the Qunari do.

I'm thinking Vivienne might have something good to say too. Between Sera, Solas, Cullen, Cassandra and Vivienne, I'm spoilt for choice on who to bring on my first trip to the Dales. Beardy, IB and Varric don't seem like they'd have anything interesting to add.

Sure you could! And I would like to. I don't see any conflict there.

I mean, look at this thread: Kirrahe and I work in the same field, and I find that the two of us often have similar opinions. But that doesn't mean we're the same person or don't have anything individual to contribute, or that if you've talked to Kirrahe you've talked to Hannah. We have different insights as well as similiarities.

Likewise, Cassandra and Cullen are different characters with different personalities and extremely different experiences. The fact they have (or had) related jobs doesn't mean that if you've talked to one, it's not worth talking to the other. :)

I'd definitely bring Vivienne and Solas. Of course, I'm almost inclined to bring them everywhere anyway just to hear the banter!

You know, I'm actually really unsure how Vivienne/Cullen banters would go. I know she's pro-Circle, but I'm not sure if that would naturally equate to respecting a Templar. At least with Vivienne/Cassandra they have similar-ish personalities.

This may sound weird, but I see Cullen struggling to get along with Viv not because she's a mage but because she's a manipulator. Given all the mindscrewing Cullen as been through, I can't see him being very patient with the games the courtiers play.

I see what's going on...Greg Ellis mentions coming to the thread and everyone starts putting up all their pretty avatar pictures. I'm onto you sneaky ladies and gents! (Seriously though, I'm pretty sure the Cullen fanbase is the best looking one out there  ;) )

Yeah I see what you mean. I could see their relationship being as antagonistic as Alistair and Morrigan's.
